That is thee question that will determine who wins the game.

Now I could give you a bunch of stats and I will give you a few, but trust this whole game comes down to whether or not we can slow down their run game and prevent big running plays.

Both the stats and the eye test show LSU has thee best rushing attack in the nation. No questions asked.

The also show they have the worse passing attack in the nation excluding triple option teams. 18 attempts per game for 120 yards bad.

We also are clearly the best pass defense in the country so I doubt their plan is to try and start throwing the football this Saturday.

They run the ball about 50'times a game for 360 yards per game. They average 7.1 yards per carry #2 in the nation.

Now they have played an extremely weak schedule to this point. We are far more battle tested.

Their pass defense gives up about 200 passing yards per game I feel confident we can get at least 200 and score a few TDs and get to 20 points. Not sure if we can get much more.

We can hold them to less than 20 if we prevent the big runs.

Can we do it though?

I expect us to go huge on the DL. Bullard (285), Cox (265), and Jefferson (275) will probably play nearly all the snaps at DE. McCallister will probably be limited to only obvious passing situations. That is fine. Even with Bullard at DE we still have a legit 4 man rotation at DT full of big boys.

LB is a concern. Not sure if we have lined up in a true 4-3 all year. That is no longer a choice. Morrison, Davis, McMillian, and Powell will all have to play their A game. I am sure Marcus Maye will be in the box all game. Don't be surprised if you see him playing some LB while Harris is lined up at Strong Safety. Not our biggest line up in the back 7, but might be the best against the run anyway.

So I think we have the personnel to pull this off. This defense has not let us down all year, but this is a phenomenal rushing attack and there are is no room for mistakes. We are also facing a stingy defense ourselves. If we are gonna win Saturday we can't give LSU any free of easy points.

Time to play some old school smash mouth football with a FB and 230 lbs running back. First time this season. Should be interesting.
