Calling all libs and cons - help me change the tone itt

seem to never be able to find the time to walk...so I do 1 arm curls...MANY one arm curls. The only walking I do is when I need to refill my drink from the one arm curls.

At 56 you may be asking too much to see actual “gains” in terms of muscle mass. What it can do is maintain the muscle mass you have and slow the aging process. Probably want to look toward “conditioning “ rather than muscle mass gains. You won’t catch me doing the long endurance cardio type stuff. I think the high heart rate type movements that wear you out in 20 minutes is better for you. Different jumping movements, jump rope, body weight speed squats.

Yep not expecting much gains in muscle mass which is where I want it at now but the slow speed in strength gains sucks after a long period of not working out. Not expecting to ever do what I did in my 20s and 30s again but I do have a goal to hit 10 reps with 225 on the bench. Up to 195 for 10 now but it's taking a while. I won't use more than 225 even when I hit 10 reps with my joints etc now though. Taurine is the only reason my shoulder inflammation stays in check enough to even lift now.

Eff squats and the horse they rode in on. I was fitter than a fiddle until I hit 55 and I religiously skipped leg day like it was the plague. 😂 I know plenty of olds who got serious back issue problems from doing heavy squats. They are saddled for life with them. Squats are for young athletes, and at best, they will just get fat asses and legs from that later in life. One of my brothers is afflicted with this.

I quit them many years ago due to the hassle and time of loading and changing the weights. Just do machine leg presses instead and I don't get back issues from those.

The post from @jsfgators about healthy lifestyles inspired this thread and I agree that eating healthy unprocessed foods and working out every day has improved my life, as have frequent and regular "appointments" with @gator1776 wife.
