Both are fine judges, impeccable credentials and have opinions rooted in law, although an activist bent. The country also breaks the color barrier with a female woman which symbolically is important. I would much rather have her and accomplish something than say, Merrick G. who is the worst form of milquetoast one could imagine.
Now, I do not want of them, but replacing Ketanji for Breyer is actually a step ahead for the country.
It will be interesting to hear the filibuster arguments changes stripes once the republicans have control of congress again.
The question is will they overplay their hand like usually happens. Like the dems just did with BBB. Or will they finally realize that whoever is in power only has a small majority......so you need to govern with that reality. Instead of the normal "we have a mandate" mentality that usually results in losing power back.

That is spot on. They should get "quick wins" and then highlight "if you like this, give us more power and control". Dems thought that the failing of 2010 was that they did not "go big enough" and tried to push a massive bill ($6.5T) where a small subset of that failed to pass. Had they focused on $500B and some targeted programs with a plea of "give us more control", they would be viewed as having momentum versus being a total flop.
Try to hold Biden accountable to fix the border, fix crime, fix inflation and pass some common sense crime bills and then re-tee up in 2024. Keep it rolling each year.
