Biden Solves High Gas Prices

Speaking of 1984, George Orwell is now spinning in his grave....

And I might be a psychic, because I think I heard Benedict Arnold just say, 'hey Joe, hold my....'

Right before hearing Judas saying that he got gypped for only 40 pieces of sliver...

Where was it before covid? Yeah, @BSC911 failed this test as well.

Love how dems are silent as obama and Hiden dig massive holes for this country, but when they pull back 20% off the lows, suddenly they think it's time to celebrate LMAO!
It’s cherry picked data to fit a narrative, when the broader picture is taken into account it falls apart.
My point is that Biden has nothing to do with the increase this year, unless you want to give him credit for the significant increase in economic growth this year that is fueling energy demand (I don't), just like Trump had nothing to do with the -3.5% GDP last year that caused a huge decline in oil prices in 2020.

We have a private energy economy in the country, we can't dictate production like the Saudis can. Our oil companies increase production as they see fit, and do so in a slow methodical way to maximize their profits, as all private companies should do.

Uncapping wells is a slow and expensive process, they can't increase production on a dime. which is why you can see the rig counts increasing slowly since the beginning of the year from 275 at the beginning of the year to 467 now. The increase has nothing to do with Biden, just like it had nothing to do with Obama when the rig count hit over 1600 in 2014, well above the Trump peak of 887 in 2019.

You can keep on believing oil prices have anything to do with negative comments from a President, or a pipeline that wouldn't be completed for years and wouldn't actually increase oil production by a single barrel, but it's short-term supply and demand and nothing more.

While you’re not totally off base here, the oil industry is like turning around a cruise ship, Presidential policies affect oil futures. Oil producing countries are going to try to make up post profits as we come out of the Covid recession and any threat to that is going to only drive prices higher.

Proclamations that you’re going to eliminate fossil fuels and cancelling infrastructure for transporting oil make the people who survive on oil money nervous and they take actions that keep prices high. What would you do if you were Saudi Arabia for example?

My point, and the data supports this, that over time the US attitude and energy policy stance can affect oil prices. Biden is pushing Green New Deal initiatives and talking tough on oil, then releases 3 days of supply and everyone acts like he’s a hero for a slight dip. Just like when Obama released a few days’ worth from the reserves, these prices will come back up and may end up higher.

And don’t admonish us for blaming Biden when the thread you’re posting in is titled “Biden Solves High Gas Prices”. You can’t have it both ways.

Pantshitter in Chief:

Joe Biden is the kind of man who deliberately would steer his car into a ditch, crawl from the wreckage and then probe the ditch for criminal conduct.

Such nonsense mirrors Biden’s recent instructions to the Federal Trade Commission. Citing “mounting evidence of anti-consumer behavior by oil-and-gas companies,” the president told the FTC to “bring all of the Commission’s tools to bear if you uncover any wrongdoing.”

Is Biden cynical enough to blame Big Oil for a national fiasco that he concocted? Or is he so touchingly self-unaware that he misses the connection between higher pump prices and his own war on oil?

In June 2007, Biden shared with CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer his plan to cut gasoline costs: “As president of the United States, use the Justice Department to go in and investigate this whole issue of price-gouging.”

  • Killed the Keystone XL pipeline.
  • Threatened to plug the Canada-to-Michigan Enbridge Line 5 pipeline.
  • Halted oil leases in a sliver of Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
  • Stopped oil and gas leases on federal lands.
  • Proposed a methane tax that could cost this industry up to $10 billion annually.
  • Encouraged left-wing activists to pressure financiers to defund oil companies.
And how is this multifront war on oil working out? As predicted.

Libtards.........making America MSNBC again.
Great post. Much more factual and better laid out than my argument above,

You seriously don't even know that GDP growth is stated in real terms, net of inflation? I'm wasting my time here.
Welcome to my world. These guys have their heads stuck so far up their partisan ass you can’t even have an adult conversation with them. You’re wasting your time.

The guys just a Bama T-shirt fan with little education.

LOL. You actually copied that from somewhere else. Please stop. You’re totally clueless on how the O&G industry works.

I never realized you people would get so upset over falling gasoline prices.

Brilliant. How many pandemics have you been around for?

And why do you keep dodging my quizzes.

PS. Then explain why gas prices are dropping. What has Biden done to change your above theory?

Fat, dumb and stupid is no way to go thru life son.

Of course it does.

Why are oil prices down right now? Three reasons:

1 - Seasonal demand. Prices typically fall in December.

2 - Hiden's boneheaded move to tap the SPR backfired, spiking prices short term:
https://www.thestreet.com/markets/biden-backfire-oil-prices-surge-after-first-spr-sale-since-2011

Prices are starting to fall again from the highs Hiden pushed them to.

3 - Panic over a dozen worldwide cases of Omnicrom or whatever it is. Hiden isn't directly responsible for this, but he is indirectly. As the leader of the free world, he's pushed fear porn over covid like no one else. Completely irresponsible behavior, and that helped contribute to the short-term spike in oil prices.

So three reasons why oil prices are falling short term. Hiden has nothing to do with any of them, and IS directly responsible for one of the reason why they rose in the first place, and is indirectly responsible for a reason why they rose in the 2nd place with omnicrom.

When Hiden took office, gas was $1.75 a gallon. Today it's $3.00 a gallon.

When Hiden gets gas down to $1.70 a gallon, then we celebrate him. This isn't that hard.

PS. Then explain why gas prices are dropping. What has Biden done to change your above theory?

Fat, dumb and stupid is no way to go thru life son.
The release of the oil reserves will cause a temporary drop in prices, and then they'll go back up.

Same thing happened when Obama released 30MM barrels in 6/2011. Over the next few months prices dropped a bit relative to the same month in other years. By Q1 it rebounded even higher.

Rather than refuting I think it proves that presidential policy affects the market, but a leopard doesn't change his spots. Any slight reductions we see now are temporary as Biden goes back to Green New Deal rhetoric in the following months.

Kudos on the name calling though.

What data? The avg, high and low by President?

I copied and pasted the prices from that link into a spreadsheet. If you want to prove it, check my work and prove me wrong. Show us this endless intellectual curiosity you claim to possess.

And I'm not bragging, it took about 15-20 mins tops. It's pretty simple, and I'm a Marketing-level Excel user. vLookup is about as crazy as I get with it, I've only done a pivot table a few times in my life. But this is just copy/paste, averages and sorting.

He's getting upset cause you are telling the truth about Hiden AND at the same time you are detailing that @BSC911 doesn't really have any idea how oil prices are set.

I'll never understand why he picks topics he knows absolutely nothing about to be his hill to die on. Ah well, it's entertaining for the rest of us, so all good.

That spreadsheet was a waste of whatever time it took you to prepare. Like real estate, there are three things that matter for oil (and therefore gasoline) prices.

OPEC (actually OPEC+ to now include Russia)
OPEC
OPEC

I know you are desperately trying to tie them to the president but it’s just blindly naive. They go up with each president, and go down with each president depending on what OPEC does. Now, you could also argue that it goes up or down with the worldwide economy,, which according to your spreadsheet would just mean that the economy performs better under Dem presidents than Pubs. But that is just a coincidence.

Remember, the past two recessions all happened under a Pub president, while Biden and Obama didnt have one.

So bottom line, you guys trying to blame Biden for high gas prices is just silly. And so was my OP, which was just a tongue in cheek attempt to show how silly your argument is.

Oh, so now we’re worried about name calling.

And for God’s sake, quit blaming the GND. Biden has never adopted that. Nor has he changed his platform (ie to transition away from fossil fuels overtime) to cause oil prices to drop 30%. It has nothing to do with the SPR. I live this stuff every day, not based on whatever political site you’re getting your info from. So stop. Just stop. You are incredibly naive about this subject.

PS. You have no idea what future oil prices will be.

I'm confused...did I lie about it or was it waste of time? Or did you just decide it was a waste of time after you pasted it into Excel and realized I didn't lie?

Make up your mind, you're all over the place.

And call me whatever names you want, I honestly couldn't care less what you think/say about me. I'd be more concerned if you started agreeing with me.

Bro, when you present irrefuttable truths at liberals/Biden-lovers, all they have are insults. That means you're over the target.

I never said you lied about it. All I’m saying is that you don’t understand what it’s saying. I’m trying to explain it to you, but you just seem incapable of understanding due to your political biases. You just don’t understand how naive you sound.

It’s like blaming, or giving credit to the president for the weather. I don’t care what your spreadsheet says.

Better take that log out of your eye. I guess you hit the mark on that one.
Says the Hypocrite hurling insults around here. Now that's just like you leftist Biden people. It's clearly evident you're the one who's been brainwashed by the China Communist Network aka CNN. Is Joel Osteen your church pastor too???

I’ve never complained about insults. That’s a key part of this forum.

And I don’t watch CNN or follow Joel. He sucks. Nice try, money changer. “Be not like the hypocrites……”

Yep, you sound like the rest of the Hyprocrites out there. "I don't watch CNN..." and yet you sound, walk, and talk like they do with your false rhetoric about everything going on. And yes, you hurled insults @fatman76 earlier. Butt-hurt over the fact you're on the wrong side of history. That's why you're just entertainment around here.

I just said I was just as bad about insults. Can’t you read?

Everything you say is straight from Fox. See how easy that is?

Fat, dumb, stupid AND a hypocrite is no way to go thru life, son. You make Jesus cry.

OOOHHHHH......BUSTED AGAIN for name-calling (LMAO!!!)! You are well-done like steak at Saltgrass. My work with you is finished. Now go run along and play with Hunter Biden on his dirty porn laptop!

Bingo! Libs can repeat their talking points, when you ask them to defend them, that's when the insults start.

Over the target indeed. Next step is tattling to the mod.

Just an FYI. As I predicted, gasoline prices continue to fall.

When will you people learn to listen to me.

Says the guy who failed the CPA several times before finally passing. Sad.
False, but not unexpected from the peanut gallery. Shocking that you were even allowed to sit for it. Had this forum existed then, you'd been permanently banned for failing the background check, had they read your drivel.
