A Tesla that’s 8-12 years old sells for about the same price as a battery replacement for said car…and 8-10 years is about when the batteries need replacing.
I know the lib mind has trouble with math but this is 3rd grade level stuff, max.
That’s one of the dumbest things I ever read. My car is 6 years old worth about 35k now. Range is 300 miles when it was new the range was 330 miles. I won’t need a new battery for 10 years. The technology will be significantly advanced by then. How many 15 year old ice cares do people put a new engine into? Transmission? Of course it costs more than the old car is worth. You people need to accept that you’re not smart, you never have been. My Tesla is the best car I have ever driven and I have had some nice ones. The new teslas already are quite a bit better than mine is. I will be getting a new model s within 12 months, I will keep the one I have now as it’s still an amazing car. I don’t understand hating new technology and progress it’s not a threat, you have nothing to fear.

Again, you people are mesuring from the first prototypes, my tela has 55k miles the battary has lost about 1% per year, as they said it would when i purchased it. the new battaries are better and the ones 6 years from now will be even better. i ask again, at what point in your lives were you considered smart? any of you???

I do not normally agree with anything you post here, BUT, according to the internet and Elon, Tesla batteries should last between 10 to 20 years or 300,000 to 500,000 miles. Of course this is driving in ideal circumstances. Weather and driving conditions can decrease those numbers. Tesla are probably a better product then the competition though.
No batteries last this long.

Lol, you should listen and believe everything I post, I am the big dog. I drive I. Florida Arizona California and Tahoe/Reno. Still have 300 of my original 330 range exactly as they told me when I bought the car 6 years ago. My exact car now is 25% faster and has 30% more range. That’s in 6 years. Amazing it’s like computers when the first came out, blink and it gets better. Sky is the limit and it’s the future, drive one you won’t go back.
I paid 108,599 6 years ago. I think it’s cheaper than your list now, go into a showroom and take one for a test drive

Own a 2007 Camry still under 200K miles given to us as a handme down from FIL, 2004 Mercury 183K given to my son by my dad, a 2007 Seinna under 200K inherited from my wife's late grandfather. I own a 2011 Sentra ~200k that my daughter drives. I bought that car back in 2016.
I bought a civic back in 2004 but totaled it in 2006 @ $170/mo. I then bought a Pontiac vibe ( same vehicle as Matrix with different body) @ $192/mo drove it to ~300K miles. It was my business vehicle. Great little Toyota motor that was still going strong when I sold it to the junkyard and I drove it until the rest of the car fell apart.
The Sentra was 216/mo. I paid all the cars off early. All that I bought were financed for under 10K. The maintenance cost is about $100/mo per vehicle.
Gas is the biggest expense and cash flow is king. I miss $1.67/gal gas that I bought in November of 2020.
Now how much do these batteries cost?
On a side note I bought a 40v battery powered mower on clearance this year for $216. It was cheaper than all but the rock bottom gas mowers which are basically junk made to last 1 season.
I looked into a second battery. It was $216. I decided not to buy a second battery. So, I basically bought the battery and got the mower free. I see mowers are now the latest rent seeking model as 90% are now battery powered models.
A couple of months ago, I was watching Amish guys mowing with horse driven mowers. They might be onto something!
