Bama - Clemson

Just think, the whole Jortgia team is sitting in front of their black and white tv, the one and only in Athens, sucking on their thumbs watching this game, occasionally sniffing each other's butts as all dogs do, wondering how the team that stomped on them and crushed their dream season is getting schooled like this.

Since they went to Bama style recruiting I'm sure they are sitting in front of a 96 inch big screen.

I love Trevor Lawrence. Why can't we get a freshman QB who is that good? Dabo is a good guy and while I'm an SEC guy I was pulling for Clemson all the way. Maybe Alabama will start a slow decline. Maybe, I hope.

I think Jones could be a pretty good one with a few games under his belt. As long as that recruiting remains Bama won't be going anywhere soon. I wouldn't mind Saban moving on to try the pros again.

Still thinking this morning that I’ll give Alabama the benefit of the doubt, and hope we play them next year and eat the shit out of them.

Nothing detracts from Clemson being good and playing well, but those two interceptions and fake punt etc...put Alabama in a spot they have not been in for basically 11 years.

From 2008 through last night, they won 5 national titles and played for two more with one more playoff. Only one season did they enter the last regular game without a shot at the national title. I think I’ll academically forgive them one bad result, where the biggest negative for them was they stopped competing in the fourth quarter. Mistakes, coaching and Clemson bit them last night. Take away either of the first two and things likely different. Take away both...

But non academically, it is always fun to tweak the king when they lay an egg. And even being great again next year they will still have to play A&M, LSU, Auburn, other SEC road games and likely Florida or Georgia.

Always gotta bring your A game. Credit to them for doing that nearly every game for over a decade.

The ONLY major negative impact I could possibly see by the final score is if top recruits the next two seasons suddenly feel the cool factor is gone and they begin a slow lowering of talent. Especially if there are Saban rumblings or coaches leaving every other week.

Gators. Head coach. Not moving. His assistants, to be stable. Cool factor, back. Tough to see us not moving and staying in upper crust of league for next half decade, maybe as early as next season.

Offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier is schedule to visit with the No. 1-ranked offensive player in the 2018 class, quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

The Cartersville (Ga.) product has seemingly narrowed his decision to Georgia and Clemson, but the Gators have continued to stay in contact with Lawrence throughout his recruitment.

"Trevor, Coach Mac and I developed Treon Harris AND Luke Del Rio... Hey where are you going? Can we have the jersey back?"

Trevor Lawrence will be the first pick when he comes out. Would probably be the first pick this year if he could come out now.
