A building is not a home. Typically breaking into a home (legally often referred to as a dwelling) is an entirely different, and more serious, crime than breaking into a building. However, both are criminal acts and anyone doing either should absolutely be arrested.

I've repeatedly said the people who entered the Capitol should have been arrested. I even stated that, if I was on a security detail to protect members of the house, I would probably have fired my weapon once people began coming through the broken security glass.

In some cases they did. They literally walked beside the protesters or right in front of them.
Clearly in other cases, the scene was different and much more violent.
