Alabama 41 Georgia 24......

He does not use tempo

He is run heavy

His QB was below average

its not like its a mystery, he runs Mac’s offense. Thats not really a question, it is what it is

And with not hiring a true OC, I don’t see how or why it would change

Again, who is the last ground and pound team to win

But it is still run first, no tempo, and much of the passing game is to the TE.

The idea that you can’t play past and aggressive and still have a great defense is no longer a thing

FWIW Bama ran the ball 468 times this year and passed it 486 times. About as close to 50/50 as you can get.

Because they have the talent to switch depending on need

When OSU won the title, Urban spread it out and went tempo to beat Bama, then came back in the title game and used power run to beat Oregon

That is why Nick and Urban are ahead of everyone else

You don’t have to be pass heavy to win a national title. You need to be balanced. Pass happy teams aren’t winning the national title either.

Jesus. Yep gonna run the ball 40, hell...maybe 50 times a game and only throw short passes to the TE.

Jumbo sets all day.

Can we please let it play out? Do you see a doctor? What's your general blood pressure? Have taken any anti-anxiety medicine (or as I like to call it, booze)?

Why do you always do this Mich?

It's not always about the offensive scheme. It matters who runs it, btw. Mac was a whackadoodle. He ran the program horribly.

You loved Mullen but his play calling was as stale and predictable as it came (just like when he was the OC here but had way better talent).

Just chill the hell out for once.

I see you're not moaning about the coaching staff anymore, but of course you jumped off a bridge over that like yesterday.

You have defended ground and pound since Muschamp came and failed with it

His offenses at ULL were not electric, he relied on controlling the clock and narrow margins

Time will tell, but apparently we don’t learn

And agin, when is the last time it worked? Please answer that one question

I just think you're exaggerating it.

That's all.

Id like to point out that the big pet of his career at Bama is when he came back and worked with Kiffin and crew.

I don't love that he worked closely with Mac at Bama and Colorado. But he's worked in a variety of systems.

Mac also had 1 year, his 3rd year, where Colorado state won 10 games.

Napier went to Lafayette, under sanctions from Heupel, and after the first year won double digit games for 3 years, which had literally never happened a single time in their history. Won 12 games this year and 3 straight conference titles I believe.

It is different than Mac.

Like I said. Any system can work, but it matter what talent you have and who the guy running the program is.

the fact that he's going to hire an OC should tell you something. Mullen was basically HC/OC/QB coach. Napier seems to want to call the plays and work with the QBs, but my thought is that he'll let the OC do the scheming and game planning and Napier will work out of that.

Here is what I am envisioning.

billy fixes recruiting, we have a balanced roster for the first time since Urb. His offense is stale.

SOS says “Send the kid up”

SOS: “You have fixed a lot, but this is Florida, score some points or you ain’t gonna make it”

Billy hires his Lane (like Saban) and all is good

🤣🤣🤣

A lot of talk about him trying to get Tom Herman as OC.

i know what you are saying.

and teams like UGA can usually put up some passing numbers IF they are dominating the run game

Bama put them in a spot they HAD to pass so Bama kept running safety blitz and throwing their QB off

Teams like UGA, Michigan, old Bama are fine, even dominant, until they don’t control the pace of the game
Well, you aren't wrong. Georgia was a play-action pass offense all year. When they got in a situation where the linebackers didn't have to bite hard on the run, they couldn't throw.
