I don't love that he worked closely with Mac at Bama and Colorado. But he's worked in a variety of systems.
Mac also had 1 year, his 3rd year, where Colorado state won 10 games.
Napier went to Lafayette, under sanctions from Heupel, and after the first year won double digit games for 3 years, which had literally never happened a single time in their history. Won 12 games this year and 3 straight conference titles I believe.
It is different than Mac.
Like I said. Any system can work, but it matter what talent you have and who the guy running the program is.
the fact that he's going to hire an OC should tell you something. Mullen was basically HC/OC/QB coach. Napier seems to want to call the plays and work with the QBs, but my thought is that he'll let the OC do the scheming and game planning and Napier will work out of that.
