Agree, but that can backfire with a running threat like Daniels.

It all starts with a very poor defensive front. That's why the upcoming recruiting class has so many D-linemen in it. Napier knows where the team's primary weakness lies. He's, also, bringing in a bunch of defensive backs. That unit needs upgraded as well. But I tend to agree with the OP that this is looking like a 6-6 team.

I agree with many of your comments & your W/L picks for our remaining games.

There is still a chance for my preseason pick of 7-5; Depends on how the FSU game goes - but it is in Doak Campbell Stadium & I am not holding my breath.

We have no depth, so any injuries we suffer along the way will be critical.

All the recruits who showed up for the LSU game saw that there is plenty of early playing time in G'ville.

Despite his stupidity about Analytics, Napier & his staff can recruit.

You can try to blame the dline all you want, and that's part of the problem, but à lot of times wrs are wiiiide open up to 7 yards. That's wrs giving up on assignments, defensive schemes, being totally outclassed, and at worst....possible confusion.

Then there's the fact that none of them apparently know how to throw an arm up on a long vertical pass route.....

I think it's mostly the players.

When we hired Mullen, one knock on Frost was he wanted to bring too much of his G5 staff.
This time we allowed it, and, learned why we should have stuck to that. Toney has been worse than Grantham

Agree that some of the problems are related to coaching; but IMO all the coaches will get a pass for this year because we all know (or think we do) that lack of talent, especially on defense, has a lot to do with our major problems - losing games.

Besides, 100% of Napier's staff did NOT come from his G5 staff at ULL.
CB, DL. OL. etc from SEC or NFL.

I think just 3 coaches came with Napier. Toney, Juluke & Stapleton. Being blown out of proportion. Only 1 of those had really struggled so far.

That isn’t what you said. You said we did exactly what Nebraska did with Frost. Not even close. Every coach brings a few of his guys. Napier brought all of 3.
I remember a guy by the name of Urban Meyer came from a G5 program and brought his OC with him. Some guy named Dan Mullen.

New scheme, lack of sec caliber players, and nearly zero depth will do that. Buddy Ryan couldn't fix this years defense.
