Huge series. Will be interested to see what this lineup does and also who gets all the abs. I wonder if we’ll see cags in the outfield some to get Heyman in the lineup.

Caglionone doesn't play outfield. He's a first baseman or DH when not pitching. The way O'Sullivan has been handling the lineup in SEC series is that Riopelle catches the first 2 games, then plays 1st when Cags pitches the 3rd game. Heyman will be DH the first 2 games, then catch the 3rd game. He used a few other DH's earlier in the year, but Heyman has earned the DH spot when not behind the plate. All 3 guys will be in the lineup all 3 games.

Interesting. I thought he got some abs in the outfield last year but he was exclusively dh. Forgot about the dh spot being open when cags pitches. Clever.

What a win in game No 1 at Knoxville! Sproat pitched like an ace and the lineup kept coming. 5th inning, their ace has 95 pitches and is out and Sproat goes another 2 innings.

All the thunder in the lineup showed up. But I love how committed they are to working counts and getting pitches to hit hard.

Ok. Let’s get one more and win a series!

It's raining in Knoxville and not supposed to stop until sometime Saturday. Doubt they'll be able to get tonight's game in and may not have time for a doubleheader tomorrow.

Incredible win for Gators BB. They are bullying UT. Very encouraging. Cags hit one to the freaking moon. Langford goes deep second game in a row and Somehow Rivera might be the best player on the team. Just incredible.

Softball team is in a fog today. Base runner on 3rd and no outs. Aub infield playing back and conceding a run; Gators do not send the runner on a slowly hit ball to 2nd. Should have been 4-1 but it isn’t.

UGLY game in Knoxville Saturday.
Yeah cags didn’t really give them a chance. I believe his first 15 pitches were balls.

Good series though. Wonder what Sully will do about Sunday starter? They were saying on air that Neely was the projected Sunday guy coming into the season.

try someone else on sundays, cags has alot on his plate and its showing. 20 walks in last 3 starts is a telling factor

In his post game presser with Jeff Cardoza Coach O'Sullivan said he was going to have to address his Game 3 starter. That tells me that he's going to give another guy a shot against Georgia this weekend. Neely finished last season as the Sunday starter and did a great job. But he's been doing a pretty good job as closer this year, so we'll see what happens. We had 18 walks as a team yesterday and Jac only had 6 of those. So the rest of the pitchers didn;t do their jobs either. Ump had a very tight zone, but that's not a real excuse.

Thought the zones all weekend were really inconsistent. We do have a lot of guys that throw at the margins but definitely felt like we were getting squeezed several times, including cags.

Yep - 2 out, 3-run HR from Ty Evans in the bottom of the 8th to lead the Gators to a 5-3 win. Evans didn't start the game, but entered after his replacement, Matt Prevesk, was pinch hit for in the 7th inning. Evans made a great catch in the top of the 8th and then delivered big time in the bottom of the inning. FSU probably has their worst team in 3 decade (they've made the NCAA tournament 44 straight times and are 13-19 right now), but beating the Noles anytime in any sport is always great. In some ways this type of win was better than a blowout. It cut their heart out!.

We really seem to be finding some pitching. Going to have to start running some of it out on Sundays I think. Cags hitting is almost, but not quite, worth just flushing one game a week.

Perhaps for rivalry's sake only and it being a great opportunity to catch up with Vandy.

At first glance it might be easy to excuse UGA's early series losses due to the competition and to give them credit for beating UK. However, UK is highly overrated, imo, and previously beat the bad teams in the SEC-W. UK has beaten a bunch of nobodies.

That said, rivalry and all.....

My post was about the softball team. Baseball and softball both host Georgia this weekend.
