Yeah - it's been planned and the staff have been aware. I was hoping we'd get him to cancel but nada.
Sucks fswho got theirs to cancel, though he was already committed to them and Elam isn’t to us so...
So this is how Georgia is getting all these recruits. I still think we will be good signing Elam despite his late Georgia and Oregon visits.
From reading comments - looks like UF canceled on the FSU guy (two of them) as we didn't want waste our time, with their decisions being made. It's a small point but shows good efficiency.
Kirby just hired Charlton Warren, told Elam before making it public.

Warren is trash. News leaked a week ago he interviewed for the job, he declined it, and now he gets announced the same weekend they just so happen to be hosting our top DB left on the board. We need to land Elam and Moore and this will be a pretty good class on paper. Moore apparently is still going to visit LSU and FSU.

I would never cheer for UGLY, not if they were the only SEC team left in bowl season with a chance to get a victory and every other SEC team lost. I will never cheer for that team after what they pulled during WW2 when their coach Wally Butts marched each and every one of their football players down to the ROTC building and signed them all up so they wouldn't be allowed to leave school and go enlist and serve in WW2. They are the most unamerican and unpatriotic pieces of filth to ever exist in this country, and yet they beat their chests and are actually PROUD of the fact that their coach refused to support America in time of war and brag about beating UF that year by some 70 some points, even though UF really didn't post a team as all but 2 of it's football team left school that very same year to go enlist and fight in the war.
Never will I forget that and never will I cheer for the SEC school that hands out empty cracker jacks boxes and calls them diplomas.
I do keep my vehemence down though otherwise the UGA grad who empties my septic tank might not show up to do his job each year.

Success in sports is often measured by how a team improves or declines as the year progresses and how they finish. It's true that our losses to Kentucky & Missouri were not good ones, although they were to bowl teams. But we did finish with 4 straight wins, including an upset, dominating win vs. Michigan. Georgia, however, finished with back-to-back losses to Bama & Texas. Thus, our #6 ranking and UGA's #8 ranking.
A lot of people seem to think Pickens may not qualify.
As far as some of our targets I would say Elam is 50/50 right now between us and Georgia.
I think Richards ends up at either Auburn or Miami.
I think its at least 70/30 we end up with Moore and Auburn is where he goes if he didn't sign with us.
I doubt we have a chance with Bogle.

That's about how I'm seeing it...it's too close for Elam. Right now - we get Elam and Moore and call it the day - I'll be happy. lol lowering my expectations from 2 weeks ago haha.
Keep in mind the name Chartfield was never mentioned with UF until he signed last year.
As far as Elam, if Kirby opened the door for us to gwt a better DB coach over one recruit, just shows how short sighted he is. Loves to bump them recruiting rankings. A lot of people think we get MAR but I doubt it myself. If Mullen pulls Elam and Moore we should make the top 10 and I will gladly eat crow about doubting his recruiting. Heck if we hit on most of these guys he could pull a # 7 type class probably.
Filling the team position needs with quality comes way before what rivals ranks the class imo. That said, I'm already thrilled with the 2019 class cake, anything else on NSD or after, is just icing on the cake.
