0-4 Holes! Bwahahahahahhahahahahah!

FSU fans better come to the healthy conclusion that Coach Cornrows is not an upgrade over WiLLLLLLLLLLie.

I agree that if toxic kids quit playing hard for you you may not be a good coach. Somehow he needed to reduce the poison and so far he has failed at THAT.

But I thought Spurrier was still a good coach even if he did poorly with Washington, as he wasn’t able to handle that culture. He had a longer and better track record of success before the failure but Norvell is a good coach but they need a good psychologist
Huh? That’s the NFL. Totally different than college football. Are you trying to compare Norvell to Spurrier?? Spurrrier won at Duke and from their the rest is history. Norvell has done nothing to show that he is a good coach. It was a risky hire to begin with.

While Scott Stricklin was searching for Butters replacement, there were only 3 coaches he had in mind, but when Frost got dumb enough(thank God someone involved in the search was turned off by Frost's interview) to consider Nebraska, the thought of Mike Gundy came up but shot it down realizing Gundy is notorious for flirting with other teams just for a pay raise with Okie State. But never did anyone at UF considered Mike Norvell. Thank God it was just the media and a small group of fans who brought up Tagglewain's downgrade of a coach.

I'm sure if Jeremy Foooley were still the AD, only he would have been stupid enough to consider Cornrows that year.

There was also the rumored baggage that came with Norvell

You said 4-7 wins here

True. If that UF & FSU game had been played that would of been a loss. They would of lost to Clemson and I think they backed out of another loss last year. Maybe Virginia?

If the uf and ou game was any Indication, that fsu and uf game was no gimme for uf

Why did I know you would respond this way
I even commented that Spurrier had much more success
But he failed at the highest level
Using your locked in mouth breathing logic he sucks

For the ACC homers, Wake Forest is the highest ranked ACC team at #23, followed by NC State and Clemson.

Huh for real?? I’m not playing these silly games with you that you want to play lately. You have been a good poster but clearly your logic is starting to get really flawed. Maybe it is because the last few years of the FSU debacle have you over the top frustrated. I don’t know but your close to being given a break.

I'm gonna say what I did last week. Even if FSU goes 1-11 this year, they need to stay the course with Norvell. Right now he has the #7 recruiting class in the nation and he can feed the recruiting line that YOU can be the player that comes in and rights this ship. YOU can get out there and get on the field as a Freshman.

Can Norvell and you delete any and all momentum they have for building any kind of program. You become USC-west coast.
They could only hope to be the usc of any coast. Usc would roll them like a dirty carpet even without a coach

The Utah AD came to UF. The following year he brought the Utah HC to UF.
The MsSt AD came to UF. He had experience with and wanted Dan at UF.
(the other HC'ing candidates for just for show imo)

Frost is a Neb alum. He wanted to go home and they wanted him, so a match made in heaven.

Cow-Chip Kelly was always a left coast guy, so UCLA was the fit for him,,, thank Gawd!

Meyer/UF began it's decent into the toilet when OC Dan left to HC at MsSt.
The iG wanted and was thrilled to get Dan as the HC.

The only style that Dan has imo, is that he adjusts his system & game plans to fit his players and the opposition for each contest.
So I was also thrilled when 2-star Kyle Trask finally became the starting QB.
Just like I'm very happy with the Gator's current QB room and his choice for starter.

No, SOS got disgusted with Snake Snyder's interference with the HC, forcing his BS on Steve.
Steve wasn't fired from the Snakeskins, he chose to leave with 15 Mil sitting on the table, just like Danny chose to retire instead of returning to play for that snake owner...

I think you meant the Utah President came to UF (Machen). Not the Utah AD.

I believed if not for Machen, Fooley's dumbass would have chased someone like Kirk Ferentz or Jeff Tedford. The only great hire for Foooley was Billy Donovan.

Meh, I don't know. Steve wanted the job, and if it hadn't been for Machen demanding Meyer, I find it very hard to believe that Foley would have had the balls to tell Spurrier no.

Now, that said, I think you're right when it comes to Ferentz and Tedford. Had he not had Meyer, and Spurrier isn't an option, those are definitely the kind of guys he would have gone after.

meh probably would have gone full court press for Stoops too, but would have settled on on guys like that.

Thanks for the corrections to my posts. It's always helpful to get the corrected info.

gd3, I think you meant to say only football/basketball hires.... (we can disagree on White)
How may of Foley's other coaching hires have won SEC and/or NC's?
Fair is fair..... Holloway, Sully, Walton, and a long list of others....

Championships in those other sports are nice and all, but I know a majority of us here care about football championships much more.

Might be true with that qualifier (us here), but not in Gator Nation as a whole imo. The SEC All Sports Trophies and the total SEC-C's, along with the Nation leading Top 10 consecutive finishes for the Director's Cup is important to a lot of people that never read or post HERE.....
😉

And the Gator Nation as a whole, thought Foley was a very good AD, despite what you and a few others here thought about him.

I agree - no way he doesn't hire Spurrier if that Utah President wasn't making the choice in reality.

If he was a helluva coach he wouldn’t be 0-4. I can probably name 40-50!coaches if not more that would have at least 1 win right now and probably could name you at least half thAt many that would have 2 wins right now.

Lol I was joking. Calm down.

No friggin way FSU has $15.2 million to piss away on Cornrows to walk. Whether we like it or not, Cornrow coach is in Tallahassee to stay for at least another season or two.

FSU simply cannot afford to do anything for a couple of seasons. They don’t have the money, and firing two coaches in a row in under five years will make it impossible to hire anyone. The school will have a reputation as being impatient and unable to tolerate short-term public pressure. This will go down as the textbook example of why you don’t fire coaches until three seasons.

Though, I suppose they could roll with Odell. It worked for LSU.

FSU just got a new AD and President. Since they had no involvement in hiring or firing Taggart, it arguably makes it easier for them to stick with Norvell in the face of pressure. And the new president is literally from Harvard and probably couldn’t care less about football.

Aren't we missing one of those still?

Don't sell Harvard short. They try to do football the right way, but that Harvard-Yale game is a big deal to them. He gets rivalry.

Hmmmmm! I smell a decommit sooner rather than later. Could be flipping from FSU to the Dwags. LSU is now poaching Trevion Williams and another FSU commit.

Maybe. But I like beating them and destroying their dreams better than beating them and adding to the nightmare.
I disagree, of course. Mainly bc this deprives us all of all the other losses they should suffer every season. One of the greatest things in life is an f$u loss. I don’t care who it’s against. And if you go to f$u instead of a real school, you should accept the fact that you settled for a third rate education and you don’t get to have dreams.
