Trask and the passing game gives us a chance to keep it that close if we don't turn the ball over and even pull a possible shocker since they know they are playoff bound regardless.

Having said that I think if they come out to play they are going to make this soft defense look really bad. Not a good thing when one team can probably line up and run the ball with no problem on the other unless the defense sells out while the other team will have a hard time establishing a decent running game.

LSU was able to get to Trask without blitzing. They sold out to slow down the passing game and it worked. Bama’s defense is light years ahead of LSU. Yalls best bet is to keep this game as close as you kept the LSU game last year, but this Bama team is better than that LSU team and your D last year was way better than your D this year.

Our players will have to do a good job of trying to execute against them because they're a very, very good unit."

Insta I think the main issue is they are going to be able to run on us pretty easy if we don't sell out a little which then opens up the passing game even more. We are going to need some key turnovers.

After just 3 season, the Gators/Dan are not up to the Bama/Saban level yet.
Few, including me, expect them to win the SEC-C this year.

Dan and Todd's early (and very unexpected) success is now working against them.
Next season, they will have mostly their own recruits to work with, so I'm giving them a 'rational' chance to improve over the coming 2 seasons.

JMOHO, but moving into a coaching 'revolving door' is stupid at this point, not rational.... 🤓

Too much doom and gloom. Bama hasn’t faced an offense like UF all year. Old Mrs. Is the closest and they struggled with them. And before you start I know Bama’s defense is better now. Just saying.

Closer than the experts think. UF hasnt been blown out a lot with Mullen at the helm. If Trask has a great game.... I think UF will be in it

One would think the coaches have looked closely at what LSU did, putting pressure on Trask on every single snap, blitzing just about every play. I would HOPE they are going to expect or worse from Alabama and not keep trotting him out there with 5 wideout sets and nobody in the backfield with him to pick up the free running player in Trask's face on every down.

The 'run game' would consist of every short passing play in my play book.
I'd put 8 in the box to attempt to slow down Harris, and man up on the receivers.
Elam would mirror Smith all game.

I'd pull out ever 'trick play' in my play book for use in this game.
I'd never 'waste a play' on a run up the middle.
The only time I'd run the ball would be on 1-2 draw plays at nontraditional (surprise) times.
The 'run game' would consist of every short passing play in my play book.

Yep definitely don't risk early 3 and outs thinking you have to establish a running game first. This is definitely one of those games its better to get the passing game going to open up the run game later hopefully.

On defense not sure what to do but Grantham is probably going to get abused pretty bad if the only way their running game can be slowed down is just by crowding the line.
