Who's in?

It ain't really about us, everything you say is true regarding us. It's about one school being put on a level above everybody else. Truth be told I'm not so sure that even if they don't win their division they wouldn't get in the top 4 if they won out. I mean they've already gotten the chance to play for a title despite not winning their damn division once, the clear bias just pisses me off.
Disagree a bit. Alabama wasn't "given" a mulligan against LSU. The computers voted Bama in. The computers "gave" it to them, to be sure. But it wasn't based predominately much on human opinion. In fact, the supposed reason we have the four team CFP now was to allow the introduction of the "eye test" and to consider the importance of conference championships and the like to be introduced into the metrics.

As an aside, our paper bonifides are more impressive than the ones supplied by Alabama. Yet we are ranked significantly behind them? Should we be? The eye test suggests that we should.

Yep. Too many questions surrounding us.

Using the back up QB. Struggling run game. A vulnerable, inexperienced OL. A very young team AND a team that everyone knows hasn't been very good the last two seasons.

Voters need to see more out of us before they have confidence.

And again, do not discount the importance of the game tomorrow nor the fact that Bama has won three titles in the last 7 seasons and, minus 2010, they have been in the title hunt every year down to the very end. They're obviously going to get bias.

Seriously...you guys know the decision to put Bama at 4 is highly based upon their matchup with LSU this weekend.

They can hype the hell out of it.

Again, in the next 5 weeks it will all balance out and become clearer.

Florida just needs to focus on getting to Atlanta at 11-1. Do that and win the SEC? We're in. Regardless.

Thank you. People are way to worked up with 5 weeks to go

How much time is left is irrelevant. It could be 12 weeks to go and the point would still stand, it's not about being 'worked up' now. It's about the fact that we continue to see certain factors used to rank teams that shouldn't be used. The same bullshit that's there now will be used in the final week too, so I don't understand why pointing that out now matters. Baylor is 34-3 over their last 37 games. Ohio St. has won 20+ games in a row. TCU embarrassed the same team that beat Bama and yet they still get shit on. And then when it comes to rank teams pretty much the only explanation we get is 'Bama bro!' It's bullshit and it doesn't matter if it's week 1 or week 14 it's never to early to call out bullshit.

And MJ I disagree that Bama has looked better than us especially when we had Grier. Who are their impressive victories? They've struggled with teams just as much as we have. I actually believe our margin or victory has been greater through common opponents.

Against common opponents with Bama our margin of victory has been better than them.

I'm fine with UF at #10. I do think Bama at #4 is too high and shows a Bama bias but this will all sort itself out. On Sunday morning Bama could go from #4 to out of the playoff race all together. Let's just wait a few more weeks.

So you guys disagree with the reasons that voters are both various about us and biased towards Bama?

I personally don't think it's unfair.

And again...

IT WILL BUFF OUT

There's a 'Bama bias that got them in the top 4, but I don't think UF should be ahead of 'Bama. right now. Neither team should be in the current top 4....yet. But it doesn't matter that UF is behind the Tide. If UF loses a game, they are out. If UF wins 'em all, UF is in. Bias wont be a factor.

I agree with oozie and 9399. I think UF is appropriately ranked. Bama has a similar resume and the two should be close.

Right. I'm not arguing we should be top 4 or ranked higher than Bama necessarily. But if we're at 10 they should be around 9 at best. Who have they beaten more impressively than us? Their schedule hasn't even been more impressive than a ND for example. And not impressive enough to be ahead of undefeateds like Baylor or FSU. They're ranked where they are because of who they are, and the playoffs was supposed to eliminate that bullshit.

And I'm calling it right now, if Bama wins out, even if they don't win their own division, they'll be in the playoffs. I'd lay money on it right now. They're already laying the ground work for it. All you hear in regards to them is 'oh well they have one loss but the eye test tells me they're arguably the best team in the country.' Or 'Ole Miss was a fluke loss, does anyone REALLY believe Bama isn't the best team in the SEC?' And people are eating the BS up. It's sickening.

Fair enough. I would see Bama ranked worse rather than us being ranked higher though

With Ole Miss losing...looks like the "bias" won't matter. No way 'Bama is in if they lose a game, no way they are out if they win the rest. One loss SEC champ from the west is a lock.

One loss SEC Champ is a lock. It won't matter what division. If it is a 1 loss Bama vs a 1 loss UF you will be seeing and SEC Championship game with 2 teams in the top 5. Obviously the winner of that game would be in the top 4.

Teams evolve as the season progresses. We have gone backwards, for a variety of reasons. We are not as good now as we were when we beat Ole Miss. Injuries and suspensions have taken a toil.

Alabama has improved. Right now they are playing much better football than we are playing, even if that dos not excuse some of their poor play earlier in the year

Esp their defense....maybe the best defense they have had under Saban? We shall see over the next few games.
