I voted Ohio State. I think any of the top 3 can win it. It's hard to go against Clemson at this point, but I think Chase Young will create some mistakes by Trevor Lawrence that will turn the tide in this one.
I think LSU was playing the best of any team to end the year, but I just don't trust their defense against dual threat QBs who can sling the ball. Justin Fields is an absolute stud. 40 touchdowns to one interception!!!
Plus it would be a dun way of trash talking Georgia fans, watching the QB they let slip away win the championship. We had to watch Cam Newton do that.
It’s a loaded playoff. I think LSU has the third best defense out of the 4 and so someone will get them. Maybe Hurts will get them today. The other semi is absolutely loaded and I have no idea who will win, although I lean Clemson because of coaching and experience. But OSU seems like they show up in the bowls and unleash the fully operational Death Star.
sadgator never had any regrets about Cam Newton...never really viewed him as a contributing Gator, and he was kinda douchey...
No comparison between the human being Tim Tebow is compared to Cam Newton. Maybe Cam has matured, I hope so. During his time at Florida he didn't show the leadership skills Tim did.
I'm going with LSU...as long as they play good defense they will out score anyone. Clemson and Ohio State are really good too. Okalhoma doesn't have much of a defense.
I lean to Clemson since like last season they are the team in the playoff that can get after the QB up the middle from the DT position and not just with the DEs. They might have enough there to find a way to outscore LSU.
OSU is pretty close with those teams also but I doubt Oklahoma could pull 2 surprises in this playoff if they somehow upset LSU.

I just can't see Okie having a chance against LSU. LSU is significantly better in every phase of the game.
You would think so but we have seen crazier stuff but rarely does the team pull it off 2 straight games.
Experience obviously goes to Clemson, but I don't think they're the team they've been in the past.

best storyline would be Oklahoma winning it. Hurts gets his fairy tale ending but mayhaps Riley thinks he's proven enough at the college level and drives down I-35S to Dallas and sees what he can do.

IMO it will take multiple turnovers and LSU has shown they have a way to get WR's running without anybody within 10 yards of them. Hard to get int's with an accurate QB and no defenders within sight.
That is what sadgator is rooting for. 1. Because Hurts really does deserve an amazing ending after all he has been through, and 2. Because it will make Bama fans squeamish...

They consider him one of their own. They certainly don't want LSU or Clemson to win it, so Jalen is their choice.
Replaced by Tua at the end of that incredible year he had. Stuck it out after being replaced. Saved Bama’s ass in that one SEC Title game after being replaced. Everything involved in transfer. sadgator thinks he’s been through quite a bit in his college career. Tons of adversity and he keep working hard and was a model student.
True...he's had a great senior season and is in the playoffs...even if they get smoked pretty great ending to his college career.

FWIW Hurts is overrated anyways. There was a reason he was benched at Bama. And now it helps to play against the Big 12 flag football defenses they play in the conference.
LSU is going to destroy OU. Clempson is going to destroy the pretenders from ohiO. It'll be a VERY interesting final game this time around for once.
Battle of the Tigers is on!!!! Although I thought Ohio State would win it, now I think LSU will . Their defense is now playing up to the level of their offense. I hope it's a good game. Dabo is a great guy, and a great coach. Ed Orgeron is proving to be a great story. Good luck to both squads.
On a side note, Oklahoma has now been dominated in two straight playoff games. They have gone 0-4 in the playoffs. I wonder if this loss hurts their profile heading into future playoff debates. I don't believe it should, but you have to know it's a cloud.

It absolutely should affect OU and future considerations for a playoff spot for them.
Why? Its not the same OU team every yr. Playoffs should be dictated by that yr only since only that team is playing. I do agree the big 12 is the most overrated conf. They might be worse than the ACC.
I think the Big 12 is a detriment to Oklahoma. They need to play a more physical brand, sadly that style just isn't prevalent in the Pac 12 or Big 12.

In reality it probably doesn't hurt them much. The pecking order for 1 loss teams probably remains the SEC, Big 10 and then the other 3 bunched together based on the conference results that year.
I guess if the SEC had 2 one loss teams they would both get in but that would have happened this season with a loss in the SEC game by LSU.
But it is the same OU team every year. They don’t play any defense. The team may change but the one thing that remains the same year after year after year is OU doesn’t play defense. Look OU hasn’t played any defense since Venables was their DC. I do think it should affect them in the future until they prove they can play some defense first. OU would be like the 6th best team in the SEC this year.

Nah. No way. You cant claim that OU of 2022 shouldnt be allowed to get into the playoffs because the OU teams of 15-19 didnt play defense. Thats stupid. Their entire conference doesnt play defense.
Hmmmm you need to go back before 2015. They haven’t been playing defense for years. Not just since the inception of the playoffs.
I’m good with only having a 4 team playoff but it is severely flawed. Oklahoma would have been the 6th best team in the SEC this year. Give LSU, UF, UGA, Auburn & Bama the schedule that OU played and all 5 of those teams don’t lose more than 1 game. We are going to continue to have blowout type playoff games, especially in the #1 vs #4 game if it continues like this because the #4 team is just some 1 loss team that played in a poor conference or had an easy schedule.
Why? He was never a dick that I can think of. The guy played his heart out on his team, got replaced by someone better and stuck with the team for the most part and supported them. He was the Trask for Alabama. He came back in their time of need and he slammed the door on Kirby Smart's national championship boner so hard last year, 4th and dumb hasn't thought about sex since.
I know I hold no ill will towards him. He never played/beat Florida and to my knowledge he didn't play/beat FSU either.
If you want to talk about the media circus that I am fed up with, it's hearing about these overrated ohio state players. Thank god that nonsense is over with. Can't believe after last night's game, Dabo said that every single starter and every single second stringer on OSU's defense will be playing in the NFL. That is such a damn ridiculous joke.
So if the gators go undefeated next yr they dont get to be in the playoffs because their offense was terrible for an 8 yr stretch? Previous yrs should have zero bearing on who makes the playoffs. Imagine if this was implemented in every sport.
