Does it really matter? They are all Average.
5 mins before Fever posts the season is doomed.
5 mins before Bama fan writes how everything is fine for the Gators and then laughs after hitting the Post Reply button. Heck you might as well start telling us how Franks is going to be an All American this season and we have nothing to worry about since Mullen is teaching him now.

Experience is overrated in this department. He had the hail Mary vs UT. The long run that was ugly as fudge vs aTm...and like one pretty pass vs Michigan. The rest of his experience is mistake after mistake. Int's, fumbles, staring down the WR, passes too short, over thrown passes.Makes the most sense. He’s the only one with experience and the other two either don’t fit the system that well or they’re raw and inexperienced. Still betting all three play this year because the staff is gonna need to know what they have in live games.

I guess Mullen may teach better than Mac is what gives me any confidence In this situation.

A+ Post. Agree X 1000.That’s overstated. He wasn’t put in any position to make plays. Like UK we just threw WR screen after WR screen. Hell that’s about every game. We had a guy who could easily throw a ball 70 yards downfield and rarely threw a ball 10 yards downfield. Route concepts were hot garbage where we routinely had multiple guys in the same general area. And the receivers we had created almost no seaparation. I mean who was our best receiver, undrafted 5’7 Brandon Powell? Throw in a trash can oline and a horrific play caller and I’m not sure what it is people expected him to do. I’m not some huge Franks supporter but I don’t believe he’s THAT bad.
All you gotta do is listen to Mullen’s comments this past spring. He said Franks wasn’t coached and played before he was ready. You almost never hear coaches making those types of comments about past coaching...it’s one big frat and they all throw softballs at each other. The fact that Mullen was willing to say that on record speaks to how garbage our system and coaching was...you can’t get anymore direct than saying someone received no coaching. Let’s at least see what Mullen can do with him before writing him off. No QB looked good under Mac save for one game.

You wouldn’t be happy if Tom Brady had some eligibility left and Mullen offered to start him.I agree but think Mullen just looks at it like we are going to give him the chance first and see what happens since he has played and Trask hasn't. Not sure how much truth to it there is but at some other places they are saying some Bull Gators that got to watch the last scrimmage said Trask seemed more poised than Franks and that Franks kept forcing the ball quite a bit. I had to laugh when the one guy on Twitter with that one Franks play evidently was asked by someone with the Gators if he would take it down.

Nope just keeping it real. Some of you can come back after Charleston Southern and tell me how Franks is going to be a top SEC QB based on his play in that game.
I pretty much know Franks will have issues when facing real pressure but can't say much about Trask because he has never played a snap for us yet.
Trask hasn’t taken a snap anywhere except in mop up duty. It might just be for a reason. The idea to just put somebody out there ‘just to see what they have’ is how coaches get fired.
So, Franks is da-man yet again...
The names that are mentioned in the article along with Franks are Kyle Morris, Jeff Drislel, LDR Happyby, and Zaire,,, not a good sign imo. Franks lost the job twice last season due to his own play, regaining it twice only due to injuries, not by his own improvements.
Too bad for Trask, but he should be nearing his UF degree. It's time for him to begin a serious search for a new team. This should be his last season as a Gator. As it has turned out, he should have taken my advice and transferred out 2 seasons ago, and Moral Stephens should have joined him in going.
I'm beginning to see visions of Meyer and his treatment of Cornelius Ingram...
Good luck to this years Gator's,,, they're going to need it.
It is my fervent hope, that Franks is a lot better than he has been, and a lot better I expect him to be.
But no matter what else,,,, it's always, GoooooooGATORS.

Well if you are a Trask fan I think you will be seeing him at some point this season as the starter. Except for injuries I think it will be real late in the season before Jones might be given the starting job - like around the Idaho game time frame.
If Franks throws 7 TD’s vs Charleston Southern, you’ll say it’s cause they suck...
I just can't wait to see how the team plays.
...well except...Mac...wasn't much for the hands-on-stuff...
I'm a Gator fan,,, just one that has believed for years now, that Trask is a better QB than Franks is. However, the Franks Mafia has a lot more pull than a nobody like me will ever have.![]()
One thing they mentioned in the article I read was that Franks was talking about how he's a hands-on-and visual learner and it's been huge for him to be coached by Mullen, because that's the way coaches, whereas the article said that Mac generally coached from a distance and wasn't much for the hands-on-stuff with his QBs.
I think if Franks "looks" better and even does better will mostly be because things are made more simply, more 1 reads and run and better overall play calling. Hopefully Franks IS better and he does have the physical tools but I think the offense overall will do better despite him, more than because of him.
Look our QB situation isn’t good. I believe Mullen is one of the best developers of QBs in the game but sometimes you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shit. The reality of the situation Franks and/or Trask is just a stop gap until Emory Jones or Jalon Jones is ready. We just have to hope that Franks and/or Trask can do enough to manage the game.
Going a bit too far. I'm no fan of Franks per se but the only pull the Franks Mafia has comes from the former coach and the current coach lol.
He doesn't fit the Mullen system too well...lolYou wouldn’t be happy if Tom Brady had some eligibility left and Mullen offered to start him.
Wasn't the reason he got no playing time last year due to having a pin in his broken foot?Trask hasn’t taken a snap anywhere except in mop up duty. It might just be for a reason. The idea to just put somebody out there ‘just to see what they have’ is how coaches get fired.
