What time does Dan announce Feleipe as the starter today?

He has played in 3 spring games against Gator defenses. o_O
The 3rd and 7th series in games is not mop-up time you fool, as I've pointed out to your dumb repetitive azz before.
But nothing personal intended,,, I just saw that crap as a quote on TG's post... ;)

Oh cool, he got two series a game in HS. You totally showed me. And now two staffs have not seen him as starting material. I’m addition to all the D-1 staffs that didnt offer him a scholarship. But you know better because...you’re gay for him on a message board. Impeccable credentials.

TG, you'll have to answer the twit/liar circle jerker, as I have him back on ignore.

And whomever it was that claimed that Scarlett 5-11 210 was UF's best 'all around' RB, sorry, but that's just not factual. For one, he's not been much of a blocker so far. o_O
Scarlett's one big plus is his yards after contact. He is a tough runner for sure.

While it's yet to be seen, both Fr newbees might be better RB's than Scarlett.
Pierce 5-10 216 -- Clement 5-11 202
But we still have 3 roster Gator RB's to take a hard look at.

Best YPC at UF is Lemons 6-0 207 at 7.2 ypc as a true freshman, along with KR's.
KR 14 for 315 yds, long of 37 yds vs FSUcks.

Malik Davis 5-11 191 tFr
He was on a Fred Taylor freshman pace before being injured vs UGly.
In 7 games, 79 for 526 yds, 6.7 ypc with 2 TD's.
Running in committee, he still had 5 of his 7 games with 90+ yards, and he still ranked 3rd in the SEC for most net rushing yards by a true freshman. Also a pretty good receiver.
Receiving - 7 for 58 yds, 8.3 yds/rec.

Biggest RB is Perine at 5-11 227 -- Short yardage boomer.
He's also the best receiver out of the backfield by far and a decent blocker.

I'm glad that they have 5, or 6 if Iverson doesn't play FS.
IMO, they are the deepest and most talented RB corp in the SEC, maybe the nation.

Depth charts were especially hard on Insta. No Trask and Scarlett as RB1. His whole world is a mess

I wonder how long until Davis is 100%. That injury takes a long time to truly be 100%.

The trainers say that Davis is 100% and he's cleared for full contact..
After the full contact practice, the coaches say that Davis is 100%.
His fellow teammates also say that Davis is 100%.
After running plays and taking some full contact tackles, Davis says that he's 100%. o_O

Fevered fan still wonders when Davis will finally be back to 100%...

And Franks is going to amaze everyone also.

He had a slight setback in camp I heard and still isn't 100% with his cutting. When he is truly 100% he will probably replace Scarlett as the starter.

He had a slight sprain of an ankle, nothing with the ACL repaired knee.
The reported quote from Malik himself was that he's making his cuts with no problems.

As to the RB's, they all will likely play all season barring injuries, with the number of carries for each varying across the season and from game to game, depending on their output in previous games.. Having 3-4 RB's rushing for over 500 yards each is my own hope, and 6 RB's and a QB with over 400 yards each would be even better.

It's a legit question - every kid/athlete who's come back too soon was cleared 100% then re injured because they came back too soon.

They said that stuff about Georgia's RB after some time in 2016 but it was clear he wasn't truly 100% until the 2017 season. If Davis was truly 100% I don't see any way that Scarlett would beat him out.

Jus-damn guys, this is not new,,, are you??? o_O
Davis was cleared to practice June 14th.
www.rotoworld.com/recent/cfb/139130/malik-davis

Florida HC Dan Mullen said
that sophomore RB Malik Davis (ACL) will be available without restriction come the team's Sept. 1 opener against Charleston Southern.

This should come as no real surprise, as the Gators had already cleared him to play in that opener. Not only will he be available, it would appear that Mullen and staff have no plans of keeping him on a carry limit or the like. The 5-foot-11, 194-pounder showed considerable flash in rushing for 526 yards over the course of seven contests a year ago. He was waylaid by a season-ending knee injury in October. A healthy Davis will join Jordan Scarlett (finally back from K-9 suspension), Lamical Perine and Adarius Lemons in what should be a productive running backs rotation for the coming campaign. Davis is better than Scarlett if Davis is 100% healthy. That is what we don’t know right now.

Maybe after being suspended and having football taken away from him for a year (well his dumb decisions took it away from himself)he busted azz and practiced harder. I honestly don't think Polite is more talented then Cece but he is higher on the depth chart.

A 6 Man Committee RB's.

All will get carries and playing time.
Who gets the 1st carries (starter) each week is mostly irrelevant.
The MOST carries is the real prize, but they should even out over the season, unless one RB just goes totally WILD, and even then....

Block 1st - Protect the QB
Don't Fumble - Protect the Ball
Follow Blocking - Pick up positive yards and especially 1st Downs.

Isnt that what the Big 12 is made up of? A bunch of high school teams. Texas Tech just got rolled by one of the weaker teams in the SEC and Texas is on the ropes against a bad Maryland team.

West Virginia, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are very good teams. The rest of that conference sucks.

I’m not sold on West Virginia quite yet. Holgorson doesn’t typically like to run the ball or play much defense. The good thing for West Virginia is exactly that though the Big 12 is terrible.

How about the play of STs? It good to see lots of focus back on that aspect of the game like under the Meyer regime.

Very impressed with the special teams, except for a couple of kickoff returns. I just liked the overall fire & aggressiveness of the entire team. They made very few mental mistakes and seemed to know where they were supposed to be on every play. And it looks like McPherson is going to be another reliable kicker with good range.

It still looks like the offensive line is the weakest part of the team, which does not bode well for trying to win games like Miss. St., Georgia, South Carolina & FSU. Time will tell, but they just weren't opening holes last night and this was an FCS team. Many of the yards gained rushing were primarily effort plays by the running backs. Dameon Pierce was the most impressive of that group to me and I wouldn't be surprised to see him earlier in the game against Kentucky.

Notice to circle jerks, TL-DR...

Things that I didn't know about Dan. Makes me like him even more as a HC.

There's good news, and bad news.... Well, give me the bad news first. o_O

The game negatives, and there were a few imo.

Franks started the game against an incompetent D-2 going 3 of 9, 33%.
Franks has a great 'slide' move when he runs the ball, unless he runs out of bounds...
Jump pass or not, Franks ain't no Tebow... ;)
His longest TD pass (34 yds) was on a long 34 yard run by Grimes, on a quick out.
The other 4 passing TD's were 6, 6, 3, 3,,, so excuse me if I don't celebrate the 5 TD passes.
The 46 yard completion to Swain was behind him, breaking his stride on what should have been a TD if it led him in stride.
WR Wells, 1 catch. WR Green?

- TE Lewis - dropped ball
- TE Raymond - dropped ball, but he did at least have a good block later.
- TE Campbell - when they went to a 3 TE set. (just missed being suspended)
~ TE newbee Krull - 2 rec late....
-- TE Stephens 23.5 yds/rec in 2017 - he was non-existent vs CharSo. WTF???
I didn't see him on the suspended or injured lists, so, did he P in someone's cornflakes? He's remained academically eligible going on his 5th year, so he's obviously not too dumb to learn the offense.

I can now see why T.J. McCoy lost his starter job as the center. FOCUS
That OL still needs some adjustments on who the starters are. o_O

Scarlett is the 4-5 best RB on the 2018 team, just as I've said/suspected.
But hey, he's still better than (suspended) Lemons,,, for now...

Dean will be a helluva player, IF he learns to contain his 'HOT' head. What he did would be okay and understandable on the playground, but not in a game. He'll learn not to get provoked.
2nd half gap control was inconsistent, that still needs some work.

For a 2nd opinion: "It was important to know this offense can work even if it was against a defense that was only a notch above air." -- Pat Dooley

-----

The good,,, Florida beat a greatly over-matched team 53 - 6.
And Dan did at least play a large part of the roster in the 2nd half.
Beat UK, and then do the same (if possible) vs ColoSt.

Franks best pass of the game was the 6 yard loft to Hammond in the corner for a TD.
The 2 wide open throws to TE Krull were his next best throws, and they weren't great.
~ Maybe Stephens is so good already, that there was no need to play him???

Evan - Evan - Evan! -- T.Townsend is as expected with a 53 yd punt.
The glaring difference between Evan and Jorge could be seen on the height of their x-pts.
The Jolly Green Giant would have to stretch to block an Evan kick. Jorge is a solid backup.

M.Davis is 100% back, and D.Pierce is as good as I thought he'd be (8 for 75, 9.4 ypc)..
Perine is the solid, dependable, high character RB that he's been for 3 years. :)
I'd liked to have seen a few more chances for Clement, (1 for 5 yds).

The defense looked good in general, just a breakdown here and there in a 1st game.
The younger guys in particular, all looked good. I knew the older guys were good.

Gawds, but I hope that Dan is sand-baggin' for later, on who he's playing the most so far....

Game Stats of some interest,,, at least to me. iG

Franks started 3 of 9, 33%, but finished 16 of 24, 67%.
5 runs for 34 yds, 6.8 ypc, L 11 yds, 0 TD's.

Trask 3 of 3, 100% in very limited use.
Had a 12 yd run with a dive into the end zone for a TD.
His rushing stat is useless due to -17 yard loss on a bad snap 1st play.
His big plus imo,was not letting that 1st play affect him.

RB Lamical Perine 2 for 28 yds, 14.0 ypc, L-23 yds.
RB Dameon Pierce 8 for 75 yds, 9.4 ypc, L-27 yds.
RB Malik Davis 6 for 38 yds, 6.3 ypc, L16 yds. + 1 8 yd rec.

RB Adarius Lemons - suspended

WR Josh Hammond 1 for 11 yds.

I liked the article. Puff piece, but it had its intended effect of humanizing Mullen.

There’s nothing “wrong” with your analysis, but I think you’re looking at it too hard. Take a step back and look at yesterday compared to the last 8 years. Never mind the opponent or the finer points.

Feels good man......

What good is it, being in a chitty conference, if you can't even win a championship there?

I'm not real up or down on that game. It was just an Air+ warm up game.
Posted what I saw. The schedule warms up slowly (which is good).

@ MsSt will be the first real test imo, not that they couldn't stumble with either UK or TN.
We'll see...

PS - Edit

Oh BTW...

On Saturday, new Florida coach Dan Mullen allowed all 15 of Florida’s available freshmen to get some game action. Also, 30 Gators made their Florida debuts on Saturday night — a truly incredible number. And, per the report, several of them made big impacts:
