Being started yet again by the usual stalking circle jerker... o_O

There once was a goater named dunny,
who was always trying to be funny.
But with his head up his butt,
and a load of beer in his gutt,
when it came to the girls he got nunny...

I must come off ignore all the time.

Whenever I see this stalker's post immediately following my post, he gets the same likewise redundant response...

For those who were around when Dan Mullen was Urban Meyer’s offensive coordinator at Florida, there is one nagging concern about Mullen being the Gators’ new head coach.

What kind of a recruiter is he going to be?

It’s a serious and legit question, and one we probably won’t have an answer for until a year or two from now.

What we do know is that when Mullen was at Florida before, he was a dynamic offensive coach who was, let’s just say, less than dynamic on the recruiting trail. During some recruiting periods, in fact, Mullen would stay back in the office instead of traveling to meet prospects.

Things, of course, are different now. Mullen is the head coach and he’s been traveling all over the country meeting recruits and their families — and by all accounts he’s bringing a lot of energy and positive vibes wherever he goes.

Now, will the commitments come?

Since he’s gotten off to such a late start, it’s going to be a difficult challenge putting his first class together, so he won’t be judged on where this class eventually ends up being ranked.

Heck he got a jump on almost everyone else that has a new coach and he started with the class already # 12 in Rivals rankings. Hopefully he can get things going.

Yup. And he cleaned a lot of the trash out of that class. Believe it or not Mac was a lazy recruiter. Most of the kids gone are not an accident.

I agree with that.

Because I don’t follow recruiting as in-depth as some, I don’t know how some of the kids fit schematically, etc. but I do have the feeling that a lot of these kids were being sold snake oil to come play for the coaches instead of the program, and that wasn’t going to work out well with a coaching change.

It is kinda stupid how some of these offensive recruits signed up to play for Mac and Nuss' offense but now that we get an actual offensive coach with proven results they decommit. Three years of offensive failure didn't scare them off but a new coach does. Logic of a 17 year old I guess.

Why any recruit chooses a particular school varies greatly with many different factors taken into account. Outsiders are never going to know exactly what it was that decided any recruit to choose a school, even when they name a reason, it's not always the truth. The shadier their reason(s) are, the less chance of it being the truth.

The 'Knucklehead-9' are solid proof that athletic ability is only 1/3 of the recruit ranking process. The recruiting services live on the 1/3, and imo, that's why they so often miss, both high and low, in their recruit rankings.

The HC and his entire staff must look at and evaluate the entire product, not just the muscle 1/3.... o_O
