Those mean we didn't hold the ball long & that you moved it slowly grinding out 1D's - sometimes. You had 71 O plays. We had 47. Same meaning. Net, stats lie at times & IMO this is one of them. We won the trenches battles.

We've got a full blown QB controversy. Our defense is basically the SOS as last year, but without a leader at QB. We got "a guy", while a future Heisman Trophy candidate rides the pine. Infuriating.

Picking up the DB slack so far:

rsFr CB/Star Avery Helm - 11 Tkls, 3 PBU's.
Along with some reps from xfer Jr CB Jadarrius Perkins, and several younger guys.

Adding to that hit list that Grantham was already dealing with:
rsSr MLB Ventrell Miller injured out for the season in 2nd game vs USF.
rsJr SDE/OLB Andrew Chatfield leaves thru the portal.

Losing your rsSr starting MLB, and then both of your starting Jr CB's, would usually kill a defense playing in the SEC. Grantham and staff have done an admirable job of staying in it so far imo.

UF/Grantham is currently at #28 in Total-D in the Nation.

And at #4 in the SEC behind UGly, UA, & UK.

The offensive line is about the only unit that is healthy for LSU now I think. KY was the first team they ran on decent but they still got hammered. I would think a couple of TDs plus win also but crazy mess could happen like last year I guess.

Maybe Todd somewhere during those 36 plays should have solved the riddle of that counter running play they used over and over again to allow their RB to break Hershel Walker's all-time rushing record against us.

Glad to see you finally agree that GRANTHAM HAS MADE MILLIONS BY NOT KNOWING CHIT ABOUT DEFENSE, RECRUITING, OR COACHING, because that is exactly, EXACTLY, what has happened.

And if they don't dump him after the year is over, AT THE LATEST, they can all go as well.

The defensive players I still believe are good players, just incredibly poorly coached and led.
