First my apologies for not passing this along earlier, as I had a chance to catch up with Hammond over the weekend when his team played in Georgia. You can watch the video below, where we talk about his status with the Gators.
Second, I wanted to share my thoughts on Hammond as a player. I've had the chance to see him several times during the offseason and I have to say that most of the time he underwhelmed, and definitely didn't turn in the type of performances that you would expect from a guy with his skill set. However, in Saturday's game, it looked like the light may have come on for Hammond. He had three touchdowns for Hallandale, and actually scored on another, a 69-yard score that was brought back due to a penalty. For some reason Hallandale's opponent refused to double-team Hammond and he made them pay all night. I think if he keeps playing like he did on Saturday, Florida fans should be very excited about him arriving on campus.
