No. Some areas where they have a plurality they don’t need to. But I think the rabid hatred of, and urgency to get rid of, Trump ramped it up and created an incredibly brilliant template.
If you look back they found 5-6 cities in swing states and employed a 3 step process that allowed them to effectively block an EC victory. But the key is, once an election is finished it’s impossible to effectively challenge - especially if those who certify the election and rule on challenges are on your side. An example are those legal challenges about voting laws…courts dismissed the pre-election on standing and the post election cases were tossed due to latches.
The three basic steps are:
1) You have to change the timing. You can’t have election “day” because you need to be able to figure out how many votes you need.
2) Universal mail in voting with reduced verifications. It opens the door for the creation of those needed votes.
3) The infrastructure that controls voting rules and voting challenges has to be partisan. This ensures that the revised result will stick.
This same basic process happened in Milwaukee, Detroit, Atlanta, Phoenix, Philly and Northern VA.
And the exact same playbook is in place for this gov’s race.
I hope I’m wrong. But if this drags on for days or Elias sues and votes are suddenly found you know what happened.
