Dan has won a handful of SEC games...but I get what you are saying. Sad what the last two coaches did to kill fan morale. Then factor in the younger generation.
College football is declining from its peak from a few years ago. I expect attendance to be 1/3 of what it is now in a few years. Kids would rather play Fortnight and watch porn.

Spurrier was 5-0 when he headed into Neyland as Florida's new coach.
Wheels came off and everything he tried ( including a fake punt inside his own 25 yard line) bombed. Lost 45-3( I for one wouldn't mind a repeat. But that's just me. Nobody anywhere seems to think UT has any chance)
Of course, both teams were Top 10 teams then. Back in "The Good Old Days"

Dan doesn’t have to prove anything to anybody about his ability to win in the SEC.
That being said, we know the deal. It is UT’s year. A lot of us mistakenly believed before the season that this team would be farther along than it is. It is very poor. This team does not have the mental fortitude to fight for a win they way it will need to to prevail this week.
sadgator has said it in other threads this week. This is UT’s Super Bowl. They are going to dump everything into it, and we will never be able to match that intensity. UT will win this game going away. No gator fans want to witness that.
And in the end, UT fans will mistakenly believe they have “turned a corner” or “made some break-through” when in reality, Florida has just faded away under past bad leadership.
We don’t have to prove anything to UT. We have owned that school for the better part of the past 30 years. UT can feel free to celebrate the win, but they will have a long way to go to equal our recent dominance in the series.
IIRC it was 7-3 at the half and 2nd half was total shitshow/awesome depending on your perspective.
If history repeats itself I want the debut to go like it went for Kiffin, Dooley, and Lyle.
But this is UT's super bowl .They win here they may be able to squeek out 3 more and make the Slag Bowl or Shreveport Slough Bowl. That would be big at this point. This game is the battle for the spot at the BHam or Indy Bowl

I am a pessimist so I am of the belief that this game is for the Cellar of the SECE not a Bowl Game.
Right now, Vandy and Ky are a lot better than either team. Vandy should have beat Notre Dame.
We play a Murderer's Row middle schedule and catch Mizzu, Ky and Vandy in November.
I am hoping they get beat up enough that we can compete and that we don't lose too many to injury..

IIRC Tenny returned the 2nd half kickoff for a td, and it was all downhill for the Gators. I think they turned it over on almost every possession of the 2nd half.

Honestly one of the most despicable and shameful displays sadgator can remember in SEC history. sadgator is seriously convinced that the football Gods have continued to punish Tennessee for that through Florida’s success over UT for the past 28 years.
Every pundit I hear talk about the game favors UT. Guess we'll see how it turns out.
Interesting - a lot of the betting talking heads are saying they think the Gators cover the spread on the road but if I was a betting man I definitely would take Tenn at home since they are getting 4 1/2 points also.

Been a long thirty years for tn really. Some still excited about a 1990 game shows that. Stunning really that this series, which was such a big game for a while, has been so ridiculously lopsided. 21-7 since 1990. 20-5 since 1993. And so on.
Mississippi Alabama is a much bigger game for Mississippi as Alabama has dominated. Auburn Georgia has been quite even etc...
But this one, considered one of the biggest, has been amazingly one sided.
And while the Gators have won some close games, their last three wins for sure...of tn 7 wins in this modern era, their biggest in 1998 was in overtime, they won the last second FG game after an admittedly bad call in 2004, survived a two point conversion miss in 2001 etc...
Sorry, while THIS year lacks panache, local story brought some of these up. Wow.
