UGA's football program is looking a lot like our program circa 2010. Two NCs in the recent rear view mirror, but everything that made them successful seems to be slipping. Our time to regain the upper hand in this rivalry is NOW. A quick casual rebuttal, but "they've recruited so well, they're not going anywhere". Consider the following:
- Their 2022 class (rising Srs.) is basically gone. 9 out of their top 12 players have transferred or have declared for NFL (still waiting on Delp which could make it 10). The bottom of that class has not fared much better as most of the "development" part of that class is GONE. No problem, right "they've stacked classes and younger guys will just back fill"...consider point #2
- Their 2023 class (rising Jrs.) has lost 9 out of the top 15 players - YIKES!!! Throw-in some mis-evaluations or overrated kids and it looks even worse.
- QB room - massive advantage UF
- RB room - huge advantage UF (even if Etienne returns)
- WR room - massive advantage UF
- OL room - UGA will be replacing 4/5 OL that had a ton of starts, we return 4/5 multiple year starters - advantage UF
- DL room - call this even. If we add a DT starter from portal, slight edge UF
- LB room - slight edge (barely) UGA - just giving them an historical benefit of the doubt, BUT our LB corps is crazy good.
- DB room - slight edge UGA
