Here it is...
The most important game of the season
The game that will separate us from a 6-6/7-5 season and a much prettier record of 8-4. A lot more successful season and much easier to recruit.
Now to talk about the match-ups
Each team has only played 3 games. 2 of them against cupcake teams.
Still it is safe to say Tennessee has a good (not great) defense, and an explosive offense when their shaky OL can hold up.
Their problem is our DL is playing Lights out. Our rush defense is only giving up 58 yards per game #2 in the nation, 2 yards per carry #3 in the nation, and we're getting 4 sacks per game tied for #3 in the nation.
Bullard, McCallister, and Brantley are all playing at a higher level then We expected and we have established an 10 man rotation.
No doubt Tennessee's OL is in trouble.
Even though they have good runners there will be no space.
Their very talented WR's and solid passing attack will be facing a great pass rush and thee best Secomdary in the country.
Oh yeah and it is THEE SWAMP.
Huge advantage to UF's defense over Tennessee's offense.
Now what about the other side of the ball.
Tennessee is averaging 2.5 sacks per game
Tennessee is giving up 142.5 rushing yard per game
Tennessee is also giving up 3.5 yards per rush
Tennessee is giving up 310 passing yards per game
Tennessee is giving up 6.9 yard per pass attempt.
Over all a solid SEC rush defense and a below average pass defense.
Still our OL and RB play look awful.
Tennessee with the big advantage in that department.
There is no doubt in my mind that we will have guys open against Tennessee.
The question can we get them the ball?
That will determine the game.
