Hopefully it forces the conversation. Congress will drag it's feet as they always do. But if they feel he is close to putting something out maybe they offer a solution proactively. Sometimes the threat of your political enemies actually dong something will make you move a little quicker.

Someone with the Constitutional authority should do something. This has nothing to do with the expressed power of the Executive Branch. We have allowed our Presidents ( both parties) to act like kings as we continue to grant the Office power not intended by our Founding Fathers.

I don’t care how much I might personally like an idea or action. Something is either Constitutional or not. No law or EO, no matter how noble, is worth it if it can’t be obtained without wiping asses on the Constitution.

I think you're probably correct. Trump needs to stay out of it. He's got plenty to do other than playing savior of NIL. Using Saban as a resource to get into the NIL action is a joke. Saban is still pissed because now he can't do illegaly what everyone can now do legally. He's such a hypocrite. And getting Congress involved will be the ultimate cluster F. Those people are totally dysfunctional and not just the democrats (who epitomize dysfunctional.)

Are you actually ok with POTUS acting in an Unconstitutional manner to “save” something as trivial as college football? You are ok with the man sworn to uphold and protect the Constitution violating it to protect a game?

The best part of that article was the fact that Tuberville got in his ear. He has legislation that kills the transfer portal and limits NIL to real NIL....and all NIL deals have to be public and reported. I'll take an order from Trump to put a spotlight on the issue...maybe that will get the Senate and House moving.

Simply put he can't

Neither of you asked me, but I will go ahead and tell you why I hate Trump. Simply put, in 1995 during a meeting to discuss contentious allegations Donald J Trump put his hand is my aunt’s face and called her a ***ger.

Full disclosure, during the 90’s and early 2000’s my aunt was the president of a NY chapter of the NAACP. They were meeting to discuss (or maybe even confront) Trump over allegations that all of you can already guess, yes both racial and sexual.

Most of you who like Trump will choose not to believe this anecdote but those who know Trump personally and have known him for 50 years are not surprised at all. But this is a well known story in my circle that I personally questioned my aunt about to get more details because I could not believe our family’s urban legend. And my aunt, a preacher’s wife, is not a liar and is much , much, MUCH more trustworthy than President Donald J Trump.

And this is the first time I’ve shared this story in an open forum or outside my circle of friends because 1) I just recently had a chance to question my aunt about it and 2) I knew what the reaction would be by Trump supporters both here and at work.

Believe it or not, it happened.
