Yeah, I don't agree with throwing Lagway to the wolves right away either. But he should get some playing time and not in mop up only. The days of having 4 deep QBs of talent went out the door with Gone With the Wind and Bear Bryant. Have some series with Lagway featured, and if Mertz struggles, replace him. But let's not throw Mertz in the trash can, he's proven he can play and play with a line that struggled mightily with pass blocking.

I'm not Napier is FoS, I'm very clearly saying you are. Mertz was our best player on offense, and to argue otherwise is silly and foolish. Brown should have singed with Western Michigan, mid major a much better fit. As to Napier, so far he has blown chunks, but our best players have been his portal player pickups. My all time favorite instability was Whittmore should have been playing over Pearsall...and you bashed the hell out of Pearsall for 2 years just like you've done with Mertz.

Zookster was definitely a better recruiter than CBN, although he was selling a brand built by spurrier and didn’t have to worry about NIL or open transfers.

He was also a better delegator as he had solid coordinators on both sides. Leaks freshman year was really impressive and honestly looks better with age. I really think Leak threw the prettiest ball I’ve ever seen. CJ Stroud is close.

You claimed Whittmore was better than transfer Pearsoll and that he shouldn't be playing over Whittmore, you posted emory jones passing rankings at the start of last year in a lame attempt to show he was better than Mertz, you've done nothing but criticize Mertz, you were calling for Brown to be the starter all year, all of those things are 100% factual. But I'm sure you will get your usual case of amnesia and hits us with snoozing emoji. Oh, and now you are calling for Lagway to be the starter...just look above.

I really don’t get how anyone watched Mertz last year and came away unimpressed. Guy was nails. Got better every game. Would have won us 3 - 4 more games if we even had a speed bump on defense. Would have won that Mizzou game except he broke his damn shoulder trying to get a first down.

The HC's whole staff does the recruiting, but it's the HC that signs them, it's his responsibility....
