I am not suggesting the questionable character types. Short of Miami or perhaps a desperate FSU, I don't know of any program that embraces garbage human beings so long as they are bringing in the wins for their teams. Nobody wants to see those kinds of players here.
As far as the money goes. I firmly do believe that there really is no punishment anymore for paying these recruits. The NCAA is either completely toothless in what it can do about that, or just no longer cares for the majority of programs. They seem to only focus on academic cheating scandals in this past decade and give slaps on the wrists to other programs. Please the whole Hugh Freeze episode at Ole Miss??? Program never had a 5* player in it's entire program history and this guy comes in and he's getting 1 or 2 in each and every class miraculously? Everyone knew what was up there and it still took them 4 or 5 years to get off their butts and do something.
There was the newspaper article 2 years ago that my brother in Georgia sent to me that was discussing the PECAN PAYROLL that Kirby Smart had put into place to lure in the recruits via nice cash incentives. What they are doing there is ABSOLUTELY public knowledge and has been since Kirby practically arrived on campus.
You want to win with altar boys, go root for Notre Dame even though they now have criminals annually on their roster as well. You want to win without cheating in any way? Welcome to division 3 football. All I'm saying is it's time to face the reality that by the rules or not, or eve if it's legal or not, the teams who are paying their players are succeeding where they haven't before and they aren't being held accountable for it. How many years must pass seeing Clempson, Alabama, Jortgia, LSU, and Ohio State in the top 5 in the polls each and every week before everyone gets sick and damn tired of it?
Do you think it's even remotely acceptable that for the past 5 years, the #1 player in the state of Florida is not even considering a Florida school? The current guy has Miami on his list but it is more of a token gesture from what I've been told. Why does this bother nobody else that these cheater teams are coming into our state and stealing the best players from our state? I would rather them be at Miami or FSU than go out of state to these crap programs.
