Liz Cheney would never have sniffed the halls of Congress if not for her father’s name. She’s not that special.
Well, you and I will just have to disagree on this one. Being one of the few republicans to call bullshit when she new it would likely cost her job makes her stand out. Especially when every single republican in congress knows she is right about the election baloney.
This had nothing to do with where she stood on any issue......it was purely the fact that she wouldn't bend the knee to Trump and back the lies. She put the country ahead of herself.
History is going to remember her honorably.

Sorry, but that is simply a far right talking point and makes no sense. IMHO there is no way in hell Liz Chaney gave up her political career and took on the wrath of her constituents and the entire MAGA world because Trump insulted her father. That's just silly. Trump insults everybody eventually anyway, what does it matter.
MAGA world just doesn't want to accept the truth. So they give their people something to grasp onto regardless of how nonsensical it is.

The Cheneys mistakenly thought they owned Wyoming politics and that she’d be re-elected no matter what. They thought many in Wyoming had the same blind devotion to Dick Cheney as they did within their family.
That was a mistake.

My opinion is that Liz Cheney knew full well she was jeopardizing her career when she decided to call Trump out. You would have to be living in a political cave not to be aware of the power Trump has over the party. Don't believe she thought she was "safe" in Wyoming.....she knew the political danger.
But she is the one who can still look herself in the mirror. I don't believe she thinks it was a mistake at all. There are a number of republicans in congress who felt similar to how she did who will have to live with themselves once the Trump power declines.
It’s not this simple Liz can also be setting herself up for life after trump. She will stand out once the trump bs fades and it will fade.
Who knows what will happen after Trump. Doubt that the Republican party reverts back to what it was pre-Trump. Although it's highly unlikely that there is another person who is uniquely gifted to pull the skinheads, rednecks and evangelicals all in the same direction.
The Republican Party needs to morph into something very different. I think Liz and some other pubs are playing the long game. Normal people need representation.
