There is a chance that only 3 SEC teams make the 12 team playoff this year...

Ole Miss gave Georgia their worse loss of the year and GA is the team everyone puts on a pedestal but Ole Miss losing to Kentucky early in the year is what is killing their chances. Other 2 losses didnt help but the KY loss looms large.
Absolutely. But let's be candid, Ole Miss is better than Bama. So is SC and Miami.

I am not sure there is a very dominant team this year where you say in a playoff game they are almost a 100% lock. Boise State almost beat Oregon and we saw MI beat Ohio State. AZ ST didn't look good the first half of the season but look a lot better now. Curious if maybe they give a higher seed (or favored lower seed) a fit.

I finally got to see Oregon play tonight and damnit those Ducks can score

SMU’s resume-75th ranked strength of schedule (worst in the P4)- 0-2 against ranked teams-12 in FPI
Alabama’s resume-18th ranked strength of schedule-3-1 against ranked teams including a win over the SEC champion -4 in FPI

Yep but that SOS is heavily skewed because of where they set it at the beginning of the season with SEC teams. 3 losses like Bama had they shouldn't get in over a 1 loss 12 game power 4 team.

Let's just face it. Based on the last two decades in CFB, this is how it should go down. 8 teams from the SEC and 4 at large berths to other pretenders to fill out the playoff berths. 😂 And that is pretty much how this is reality until NIL and the portal change all of that

Lanning must have a great offensive staff as Bo Nix and Dillon Gabriel's careers as QB took a nose dive prior to transferring to Oregon.

Nix was coached by Gus Malzahn, just sayin.

Their SOS and FPI is way better than either SMU or Miami. I don't want them in either, but they have simply played a tougher schedule than either of those 2, plus have more quality wins.

They have 3 losses. Them against Miami is a good argument and I get both sides. SMU has 2 losses vs bama 3, bama lost to unranked vandy and got blown out by an unranked OU team. SMU lost came in a conf championship game. I can't justify sending a bama team with 2 atrocious losses over a good smu team.

I'm not a big believer in SOS, I don't think it's accurate. Bama was not a playoff team this yr and I'm ok with that.

Dead serious, I think UF and Scar both deserve it more than bama.

GA got the best quarterfinal matchup if favorites mostly win. Beck may be out though and not sure how good the backup is. Beck I think isn't some difference maker this season however.

Well, I'm glad I was wriong and that Alabama got left out. Oregon got a bad draw, being the #1 seed and having to play the Ohio State/Tennessee winner in their first game.

Bama is the one team I just can't justkfy... vandy lol then a 3 to 24 loss against an unranked bad OU team
IMO SOS only matters when you don't lose to average or below average teams. If Bama beat Vandy and OU, but lost to maybe UGA and Texas (closely), then I can see maybe getting in. We definitely need this expanded playoff. GT gave UGA all it could handle, but Texas couldn't beat them twice?

I believe Nole fans also take pleasure in the fact Miami is not in the CFP. 🤣 🤣

I think teams are more even now than in the past. I still think the sec is king but it's not lost on me that a big 12 school came in and went 11 and 1 in regular season. I also think teams like Boise and smu are good teams and if we just put sec teams in then it devalued the sec regular season imo.
