There is a chance that only 3 SEC teams make the 12 team playoff this year...

The committee doing what they feel like again.

Somehow Miami dropped below Bama despite not playing and Bama beating Mercer. If their thought is this why was Miami in front of them last week before this meaningless week for both teams.

1 loss BYU dropped behind 1 loss SMU by a spot despite beating them head to head.

Ole Miss and Bama are in front of GA despite GA having the clearly better resume than both of them. If head to head is that strong now then why is SMU in front of BYU. You could even argue TN over Bama just using that or say it shouldn't mean as much with the other teams because of that.

If things don't get down to 4 SEC 2 loss or less teams A&M beating Texas will throw a nice twist into things. Who gets left out along with TN. Imo it should clearly be TX but I think A&M fans could be right they will try and Get TX in there if they can and screw someone else.

We know Bama will be given a spot regardless of the SECCG game outcome but will A&M with a loss there? Would they screw A&M right after they beat TX head to head and went 10-2 regular season to put TX in.

The big issue now with the craziness in the SEC yesterday is how will the committee handle it. I think Indiana is pretty much a lock to get a spot now and the 4 Big Ten teams are in barring a big upset this week.

The Big 12 is a 4 way tie right now and has a lot of possible scenarios for which the 2 get in their game but I think I read Colorado would only get in if they end up in a 3 way tie with Arizona State and Iowa State.

A&M even after that loss will be a Top 4 seed with a bye week if they can beat TX and then Georgia in the SECCG.

What does the committee do with the top 3 loss SEC team and Clemson scenario? Dabo was talking the usual SEC favortism claims yesterday about the committee.

What I think the committee could possibly do is if Miami lost to SMU in the ACCCG is keep them over 2 loss Clemson (who would have beaten SC) and the highest 3 loss SEC team which gets rid of the problem. If SC beat Clemson they still have the argument that a 1 loss regular season team should go over a 3 loss regular season team. Will that apply to a 1 loss regular season SMU also?

I am also curious if Bama drops below Ole Miss or not looking that bad against Oklahoma.

Will be interesting. Remember that the Big 12 and highest ranked non power 4 school get auto bids. Right now the Big 10 gets 4, SEC will get 3, ACC 2, ND, Big 12 champ and highest non power 4. I think both SMU and Miami are in barring upsets this Saturday. Clemson blows chunks. They've beaten nobody.

South Carolina probably beats Clemson anyway.

Curious if Clemson beats SC would they take SMU if they lost the ACCCG or Clemson. Pretty sure if Miami loses they take Miami over Clemson.

If Colorado can get a 3 way tie with IA St and AZ State to make the Big 12 game would they at the last minute jump Colorsdo up a lot if they won it past Tulane. You would think it wouldn't be enough but they probably want Deion in the playoff if they won the Big 12.

I think with all the SEC upsets, the ACC gets 2 teams in the playoffs now. The Big 12 will only get their champion, IMO.

I agree. 4 big 10, 3 sec, 2 acc, 1 Big 12, 1 non power 4, and ND. Texas is the only SEC lock in my opinion. Crazy thing is crappy Alabama could still back their way in.

If Bama gets in AGAINthis yr I might not watch. They are an embarrassment, loses to vandy, scores 3 against a bad OU team... we are better than bama rn

I think it should be locked by conf, so SEC and Big 10 get a max of 3 in, ACC and big 12 get a max of 2 in then , then highest G5, then either pac 12 champ or another g5.

ND is not eligible until they join a conference

All the 12 team teams that get in their are gonna be blowout games. Remember when everyone thought TCU belonged and Georgia beat them by 70.Put Indiana, SMU, Boise State and Notre Dame all in the SEC and they get their asses handed to them. You see what happened to Indiana when they played OSU and was run off the field.

Speaking of TCU, Michigan came into that game looking for payback against Georgia. What they forgot was they had to play TCU. pOSU and Michigan should have played for CFP final in January of 2023. Michigan looked far more focused the next year.

I know we still have some football left to be played but you see who is sitting there at 13 just waiting for a chance to pounce into the top 12 if they beat Auburn. Let some teams 7-12 lose and watch out.

I doubt they would jump a one loss ACCCG loser and Clemson would probably stay in front with a SC win. If ND lost things could get interesting.
