I spoke with an assistant head coach of an SEC basketball team this week.
It was fascinating. He told me that it is well known throughout the SEC that no one wants a piece of Florida right now. Said that Florida could have three guys with a bad night and still beat the crap out of you.
He said this about Florida: “they have Depth. Physicality. Multiple three-point shooters. Lots of fouls to give at the big level, and a head coach that is “ruthless.” He said the team is absolutely fearless.

Condo is becoming a dominant force in the SEC. And he was given 2 scholarship offers: University of Florida and… St. Mary’s. Do you think our coaching staff is thorough? To say this coaching staff finds and develops undervalued talent is an understatement. Now the job is to keep these players.
I’m gonna do a new fundraising effort soon. You guys can absolutely decide not to participate because you were so good recently with the bourbon drive, and I am grateful and do not blame you for sitting this one out. But I’m going to increase my commitment to this program. Because we’ve got to put more money in the bank. If you give Todd more resources, the dude is going to live at the top of the SEC standings for a long time, and that is the best kind of living.
The pundits say that the best basketball in the land is played in the state of Alabama. We took out a Broome and swept the state.
We are on to something. It all starts with the head coach. I think we’re going to lose a key assistant coach in the off-season because he deserves a head coaching job and there’s already interest. But I also have 100% confidence in Todd to replace that person and/or promote from within.
Todd is one of those generational type of coaches. And we have to keep him here, no matter what. I think we will. But in this god-awful world of NIL, we have to do our part to help provide him with the players to succeed. It’s on us.
