The SEC doesn't appear to be faring too well right now going 1-3 in bowl games. I know there are at least 5 games to go and I know motivation has a lot to do with these games but a sub .500 record doesn't look good either. The SEC as a whole has looked pretty pedestrian the past couple of seasons against the other power 5 schools in the regular season. Oklahoma needs to definitely wipe the floor with Georgia however.

Screw that - I want them and FSU to lose any game they play.
^^^ THIS. I enjoyed the Gators having the worst record in the conference and having to settle for their 4th choice for a head coach. I also enjoyed beating Oklahoma and Auburn when the Gator dude with all the numbers as a name said we were so overrated all year. :D However, I do pull for the Gators occasionally against Michigan, Ohio State and sometimes Tennessee.

I agree with GF. I'm pulling for Oklahoma & Clemson today. Can't stand Saban and will NEVER pull for Georgia or FSU in any game they play in any sport. I want the SEC to do well generally, but specific biases trump that to me.

We by no means had the worst record in the conference and we by no means settled for our 4th choice at coach.

You’re better than that.

The bowl games aren’t always the best way to judge a conference either, especially with all the coaching changes and things like that.

However the SEC is lousy because the coaching isn’t very good.

Remember when the SEC East alone had Meyer, Spurrier, Richt, Pinkal & Franklin. Now look at it.

There is like 3-4 good coaches in the entire SEC. There used to be 4 good coaches in the East alone.

When it comes to recruiting/talent it’s the best conference in the country hands down but the coaching isn’t what it used to be.

As much as it pains me to say so, I think UGA is going to destroy OU.

Hope I am wrong

Overall record, not conference record. Everyone on XM 84 said Mullen was the 4th choice.

We went 4-7 overall.

Tennessee and Arkansas both went 4-8...and if we didn’t have to cancel a cupcake we’d be 5-7 like Vandy.

That’s nothing to brag about but we weren’t last.

And Mullen may have been third, but I don’t know where you can get fourth from.

Chip wanted to be in the Pac12 and Frost had to actually be convinced to leave UCF for Nebraska, so we weren’t getting either of them.

No clue who the supposed “3rd” option was before Mullen.

I have a feeling Michigan will be a contender with the new QB this upcoming season. A lot of young talent on that team this season.

You may be right. I don’t think OUs defense will be able to stop UGAs run game and UGA has a very good defense with plenty of time to prep for OUs offense.

That dude with all the numbers in his handle thinks every team in the history of college football is overrated so don't feel singled out.

I wonder if the dawg will ever attempt to answer this.

Georgia doing this year what Florida has done about a dozen times since Georgia last played for a title in 1982.

And acting like asses.

They have already concluded that they will be the best forever, because it always lasts.

Snicker.

Good win for Muschamp. I don’t think Harbaugh is overrated, but he needs to either find an Andrew Luck or make his offense a little more user friendly. Every play is so complicated, motions and shifts everywhere. Too many ways for the play to go wrong.

Is Andrew Luck the only QB he has ever won with at the Power 5 college level?

Off the top of my head yes. But he won in the NFL and he had some big wins at SDSU if I recall correctly. Didn’t he beat Carrol’s USC team there?

Don’t get me wrong he’s a good coach but he’s an overrated good coach. People talked as if he was going to walk into Michigan and instantly become a national title contender. He hasn’t gotten close to that yet.

This is true. They ran a quote from Amani Toomer that they were expecting Urban Meyer/Nick Saban and they haven’t seen it.
