Can Trump declassify documents after he left the presidency? Just a relevant question I do not have the answer to Personaly I don't now how understand how he could. He was a "normal LOL" citizen when he left office.
My understanding is that no, he cannot.
That's my understanding as well.
It's also my understanding that he ordered that documents associated with Crossfire Hurricane be declassified, and certain people defied his orders. So now they are trying to claim Trump has 'classified' information cause they didn't do their job.
If anyone can explain to me why those people aren't in jail, I'd love to hear it.
Hmmm...can a president classify information? No idea...not something that I have ever heard of or considered.
No he can't that power derives from the constitution to the head of the executive branch of government...just like the granting of pardons is exclusive.
Those are executive actions...just like making laws is solely the legislative branch's responsibility

Why didn't trump then get those documents to John Durham the special prosecutor?
Why does he have the documents in his basement?
Durham has already lost the most important case...why didn't trump come out
and say the information was declassified use it.

When the documents have been declassified you tell the agencies affected

Did Durham not get the message that ALL of the Crossfire Hurricane documents had been declassified by trump?
Did Durham just choose to ignore all of the documentation that would help him win his court case or were the documents never declassified to begin with and trump is just lying to CYA his theft of documents?

If trump declassified documents daily so people could work on stuff at home as he claims...Did he classify them the next morning because those documents haven't been getting restamp classified again.
Their classification to everyone has gone unchanged
He can claim he did it whenever he wants. In this case, all he has to do is say he did it while he was President and there isn’t a damn thing anyone can do about it.

The stamp doesn’t matter in this context. Military classified documents don’t always get updated/stamped properly etc. Happens all the time. Oversights with stamps happen regularly with military documents. Stick to subjects you know something about….,,such as, Golden brown french fries.

Good question. If so, Hiden could simply 'reclassify' anything Trump had declassified.
Maybe that's part of the reason why Trump's declassification orders on his way out the door* were ignored. Cause they knew Hiden couldn't simply undo them.

I have to chuckle a little but ITT. As someone who has handled and seen plenty of classified documents, handled comsec etc….I am nearly in tears laughing at the media, politicians, and little dickeys gaslighting on documents stamps, mishandling etc.
If I had a dollar for every piece of classified documentation, comsec, or security procedure that wasn’t handled appropriately…..I would be the richest man on the planet, and we wouldn’t be able to build enough prisons for everyone that broke protocol.

Some of them are Top Secret SCIF only documents. They were an oversight too?
Those documents are only allowed to be few with Tops Security and only in special facilities. Its illegal to even access those documents outside of a specially secured faciltity.
