Tenn v GT

if there's any positives for us, it's that UT won that game so they might still be ranked when we play them unbeaten... because if we lose to that team........kill me
Yes UT isn't very good again. Kelly is a good RB but they are bad on defense and they are going to miss Dobbs much more than they think.

That RB on Tenn is tough. I cant believe GT blew that game and I would never willingly schedule that team because its like those academies but with better athletes.

UT plays 3 1/2 games in 13 days. Players Gonna be tired after the Florida game ends.

Lyle broke another losing streak. 1st time in 7 regular season games with UT ranked as a TOP 25 team where he won.

Hard to tell how that defense truly is because they won't face another team like that again.
They were terrible on defense last year and they lost all the decent players they had on defense last year in Sutton and the DE (name escapes me right now). They also lost their best defensive player for the year about a week ago. Their DC isn't any good either.

It's inevitable at this point. Their OL will do enough to wear our defense down.

We can't control the clock like GT did most of the game to tire them out to make it close.

Our 5* LOT was suspended for failing his 1st drug test.

I dislike Lyle immensely. But there have been very, very few players recruited under him that have been out prowling the bars and having "Parties" going on in their apartments at 3 am. Every individual ACCUSED of impropriety was immediately suspended, kicked off campus and if it was more than misdemeanor, they were handed over to detectives and the DA to pursue charges.

Plus, the effort was made to find athletes who excelled in the classroom. Not a single player last season had a GPA under 2.6 and 58 with a 3.0 or better. Every player has a USABLE degree that they are working toward and there are no worthless "Urban Studies" degrees being handed out. They know that only about 2% of any class will make it to the NFL so mandatory study hall and work with tutors and industry ( Dobbs worked with Pratt and Whitney Aero-Space Engine design every summer he was at UT).

I dislike him as H/C but would gladly have him as someone involved in player recruitment/player development.

UT is not a good football team, and if they play that QB against our defense, we should not lose... period, i hope they don't smarten up and start playing the other kid.

Smarten Up is not a phrase that will ever be used to describe Lyle the Loser. Only way he makes changes is when he is forced to. Dormady will be the Q/.B until he is carried off the field on a stretcher.

Lyle coaches afraid. Something he and Mr Ed have in common.

If that QB plays against our defense, they will have a hard time.. Dobbs hurt us with his legs and balance with them to open up the pass, this guy reminds me of nathan peterman or whatever his name was in the pocket against us... Most teams run the ball and do everything well against GT's defense, this game could be as big of a shit fest as the one from 2014 in Neyland.. UT's defense is worse than ours obviously, but in reality I can see their offense, it's not gonna move the ball against decent defenses with that QB, he can't open up the D's with his arm and make the run go before that.

No matter how bad we looked, in all reality, we should win that game. Butch Jones is in deep shit, they actually looked worse than I expected they would be, even in a win. Most rushing yards in school history, how many teams have ever won a game giving that up? They only had the ball like 18 minutes

Your DL is not as good as it was last year. Our OL is better than it was. We went into the Ga. Tech minus a 5* LOT due to his getting caught failing a piss test for smoking dope. . Kelly is a no nonsense north-south runner who only needs a crease and he is gone. He is a speed back who will be in your secondary in the blink of an eye if given a chance.

On the other hand, your rushing attack was the worst in the league last season. Your best RB, Scarlett had only 100 more rushing yards than our Q/B and had only 1 more rushing TD than our # 5 Rusher.

Passing with Zaire is a joke. He was never a pocket passer type Q/B. He should never have seen the field. If anything, Allen should have been put in. At least he will be around for the long haul and needs the experience.

I had no idea what the Florida offense was trying to establish on Saturday. Perhaps it was just a bad game that nothing good could be taken from it and is best forgotten. The short routes were available and the old saw is take what the defense is giving you and when they try to stop that after you are getting successful, then go for the throat. Been many a 5 yd completion turned into a 50 yard TD. UT had one of those tonight. Get out on the edge, make one man miss and use speed to outrun everyone else to the endzone. It don't take putting 60 yards of air under the ball to get a lot of yardage.

On that Zaire fumble, Ivey didn't touch the DE who put an inside move on him. Then after the fumble and defensive TD, Ivey was screaming at the OG..OG had moved inside to help the Center. Either there is some terrible miscommunication going on or there are some players who need a sit down and a good ass chewing for giving up a defensive TD on one of the most critical parts of the field.

Both are bad football teams, it's that simple. But UT.. which is humorous, doesn't have the better overall staff or on defense.. Again, if they keep playing that same QB i watched, it will be hard for them to score on the Gators defense, and be a muschamp butch game we've already seen a few times.

We lost our best W/R, the one who made Tabor look like shit last year . Don't know how bad his wrist is . If broken, he's lost for most if not all the year. Lost a starting DT and that's why the walk-on was in and got to block the F/G attempt. Only serious injuries I've heard.

How'd the Swamp Donkeys do injury wise against Missedagain? Other than Pride?

any wideout makes a hurt db that's on the ground look bad, you keep pushing that one a year later.. tabor shouldn't have even still been out there

you are shitting all over your team, while trying to tell me how they are still gonna do this or that or be better than Florida like im conversing smack with you.. I see two bad teams with bad coaching, but with Florida having better overall talent and more upside at QB unless that other QB comes in for UT. Florida has the much better defense, that is the big difference so far to be seen.

With Florida and Tennessee, I saw two uninspired teams with two lousy H/Cs and not much regarding Assistants. I got no clue how good UT's defense is against a regular type offense. As for the UT offense, there were ZERO sacks. Zero Ints. ZERO Fumbles, 4 rushing TDs and 2 Passing TDs. There were only 2 penalties called all game against UT for 20 yards and the worn out defense( only time I've ever seen an opposing team with 48 minutes of possession time) did manage to force and recover 2 fumbles.. These were small things but positive ones.

I know your defense had 2 pick-6's on two terrible throws from Speight. What other positives were there? I saw nothing rushing wise. Kelly had around 130 yards and 4 TDs. As poor as Dormady started( with 8-10 drops by W/Rs and TEs) he finished 20-37 for 221 yards and 2 TDs. Piss poor 66.3 Q/B rating but No ints.

How did Zaire and Franks do passing wise? Oh yeah, Franks had a Q/B rating of 23.0 and Zaire had a Q/B rating of 4.6

Yeah, UT gave up an embarrassing amount of yards on the ground again. It's a shame that you don't have a rushing game even with Scarlett.
Trash Dormady all you want and he was not great at all. But he was good enough to win the game in D/OT. You should worry about your own Q/Bs as UT has a far better one on the bench but Lyle has this thing about seniority. Dormady is a Junior. Guarantano is a Freshman. Going to take having Dormady taken off the field on a stretcher for Guarantano to play.

Not really sure what to make of Tenn because its hard to judge a defense playing against an offense like that. As far as offense they didn't click some until the 2nd half and that QB doesn't appear to be the cool customer he showed in the spring game but I will say his play in the 2nd half did improve quite a bit and showed he may have decent potential going forward.

Numbers...

If that chubby slow footed statue of a QB from Michigan can beat us...any SEC QB has a chance. Heck even the dude who filled in for a minute named Corn looked descent vs us.

But that coach they have will find a way to lose games he shouldn't.

This has to be the chittest of coaches in one division of P5.

LOL prolly.

I was surprised they beat NC. St. AND scored 35 while doing it. NC St. is supposed to have one of the best defensive lines in the country, 2-3 guys getting NFL attention.

They have the best QB in the division. It's not unrealistic, said something similar preseason.

You will find the best Q/B at Mizzu. You will also find the absolute worst defense at Mizzu. Gave up 43 points to a D-AA or whatever they call those lower division teams now.

Lol, one of these days D1 schools will learn. One of these days...

FSU is about the only one who got the nugget out of the group.

Nope they won't learn. You see the same thing in the NFL with Bellicheck assistants. AD's and GM's seem to believe that working under THE guy makes the assistants THE guy also. They don't seem to grasp that the fact that Saban and Bellicheck keep winning despite assistants coming and going may signal that the assistants aren't the difference. They do what they're told.

he didn't really beat us, or wasn't the reason.. We lost how we always do, left the defense out too long and the same thing as always happened, they had it long enough and got the run going compared to ours getting zero on the ground. He threw the picks because we got near him a few times and sacked him too, that's what happens when you pressure a club footer and he gets skiddish and against good DB's that know what to do with the ball once they get it in their hands. We can do the same against UT's and many other QB's, the defense was actually better in areas than I expected in game one, thank God. Few mistakes, few really good plays that scored. When you score TWICE on defense, not only should you win, you should win kind of easily

if we lost to UT, it's gonna be a really hard day for mac to explain. UT is worse than us this year, i can see it. They knew the run was coming for months and had the worst performance in school history, them winning the game is excusing everyone from harping all over it. Im glad they did, for our SOS and possibly still leaving that QB in at least two more weeks.
