Tenn - App State

if that defense is having that tough a time and their OL is getting blasted up front... they will have a rough time...

They look worse so far, app states DB's are playing so far off though it's only a matter of time and their QB is a retard and can't even complete screens like driskel.

LOL Tennessee is still good ole' Tennessee. Trailer Trash!!! I think Butch has hyped them up too much...To be honest I thought UT was better last year than what I see so far this year!!! Noway are they a Top 10 ranked team...Nope, noway...

No matter what happens the rest of the game its a joke for them to act like Dobbs is some great QB. The guy has never been a good passer.

They may still pull this one off. Blame it on playing tight. But what has Butch Jones really ever did. What is his signature game? A win vs Grayson Lambert UGA when Chubb went down? The bowl win vs the Big 10 Purple Vandy?

It's opening week this doesn't mean much. And App St. is legitimately a good team. That said I think what you're seeing with UT is what you see with teams that are supposed to take the next step but don't have the experience doing it. They're talented as hell but aren't used to being in a position where they have expectations. They aren't handling it well so far.

WTF did I just see? This App St. coach needs to be hanged. Horrible decision to throw a ball behind the line of scrimmage when you only need a yard for a first and then not call a damn timeout and let the clock expire running a play. Good lord.

Was just about to post this. Total choke by the HC. It was a pretty good drive to that point. A couple throws on 1st down. You have to try to win it there, because your kicker is overmatched in OT.

It's week one and weird $hit tends to happen but App St. was the better team tonight. A dumb coach and shitty QB lost the game. Oh and lots of luck for UT.

I knew they were going to win, these teams always win these games, except for us... that fumble would have never been in our favor like that. These auburns always prevail against these teams

Appy St. is pretty good. They have some studs on defense. Couple of bad decisions and a fluke fumble into the end zone and ut pulls it out. It's early. Not sure I would read too much into this game.

I agree to a point but with their undersized D Line you should be able to get a better run game going.

Josh Dobbs doesn't have eyebrows.

Or an arm.

Always been confused why "they" think UT is the obvious choice to win the East.

Dunno about that. I recall a blocked FG against USC-E that saved a championship season, an interception against Vandy in OT when Cutler was their QB, a spin the QB around wild throw pick six against Kentucky when they had that 300 pound QB, a miracle FG last year to beat Vandy (all FG's were miracles last year), and let's not forget...

them being so bad up front on both sides of the ball is very telling to what's going to hurt them in conference play. They are at least a 3 loss team, and they have no passing game. If we lost to them I'd be embarrassed and it would take even more of a hack job than it has the last two times we've played them...

yea but ours are so few and far between you can name them all from decades apart.. Auburns , LSU's and these teams have at least one a year and usually against us

That did surprise me especially the 2nd half where there was no excuse not to have full effort that they couldn't wear down that smaller D line more. We should be able to contain their run game and Dobbs is no big threat when forced to pass.

Let's not write UT off yet. Strange things happen in week 1. It will be interesting to see how they handle that game at Bristol. If they blow the doors off va tech, last night will probably be long forgotten. It may even serve to wake them up.

sadgator knows our game with them will not be easy.

They can't be waken up, they have serious issues in a lot of places. Their defense is still bad and looked even worse against an AWFUL qb and overall offense and they got destroyed up front against a sun belt team. They will get eaten alive in conference play up front and will not be able to run the football which will force Dobbs to do something, which it's blatantly obvious he can't and has not gotten ANY better. App State already knew and showed how to shut that offense down, make him beat you passing. Defenses like ours will eat them ALIVE and if we just control the ball and limit turnovers 12 is gonna happen. hopefully they don't lose before they play us and stay where they are in the polls relatively so we can move up. Without even playing a game yet us winning the east again looks like a very realistic possibility with all the turnover at UGA and SC and VAndy looking pathetic as usual.

They'll still be able to run. They ran on everybody last year with a worse oline and with Dobbs not being able to complete passes. Last night looked to me to be two things: game plan and App St's scheme. Tennessee's game plan was veg arrogant and they came out like they were just gonna line up and run it down App St.'s throat and didn't even attempt to throw the ball until the second half. And then App St.'s movement from that odd line gave them issues. App St. basically ran a 3-3-5 and kept 9 in the box and kept moving guys around and they couldn't pick it up. Those are things you should get better at as the season goes along though. I don't think they're as bad as they looked last night but App St. definitely should have won.

Hey Mad-Dog-Dollie, they say that a picture is worth a thousand words....

After watching Vandy, USCe, and Tennessee last night the SEC East is yours for the taking.

I am not sure they have the overall coaching to get them over the top...last year proved that. They are still a dangerously talented team. If Butch wakes up and benches Dobbs for Dormady the SEC is in trouble.

It's still early but UTs oline looked pretty bad. I don't think Dobbs is a good passing QB and they don't have much at WR. You need to stop Hurd and Dobbs from running. We do that and we will have no problem with them.

They have some talent but they aren't well coached.
