Numbers, does this mean that you've chipped in on Fishers statue for Ron Zook Field?![]()
Sad, did you read the 2 articles I posted above? Those weren't researched and written by butt-hurt egomaniac fans. I'm sure not one and I have no hard feelings against the guy for leaving. And it has nothing to do with a claim of disloyalty. He made mistakes in the way he played favorites and handled discipline, plus recruiting super talent many with character issues, especially the last 2 years . It was eating him up inside and he knew there were some down years coming. It affected his health and he had to get out. I don't fault him for that. The players and those around the program said he left a lot of talent behind, but a total mess as far as lack of discipline and an entitlement mentality. He played favorites and caused huge division among teammates as a result. Urban himself even said that Muschamp inherited a broken program. Well, who broke it? There is no doubt Meyer is a great coach and gets cudos for what he did at Florida. But I would bet he would even admit he is a much better, more consistent, coach at Ohio St. than he was at Florida. This thread is on the Ring Of Honor and in spite of his accomplishments at UF, I still maintain that he is not deserving to be in such an elite group of GATORS. Only 6 years at the school and in spite of all the wins and titles, he left a broken program (his words) in his wake. That's not just my opinion and it doesn't appear to be overblown. That is a fact based on what former players have said, what played out with the suspensions and transfers that resulted in Muschamp's first year, what Meyer himself has admitted and what reporters who have researched the situation have concluded. I'll be very surprised if the powers that be ever put him in the ROH. Won't lose sleep one way or the other, but as a 45 year alumni, I wouldn't like it if they did.The “disloyalty” label is unfairly placed on Urban and continues to be propagated by a select few butt-hurt egomaniac fans who can’t envision how anyone could possibly leave their precious program whatever the circumstances. So instead of manning up to realty, they have created a conspiracy-type narrative to make themselves somehow feel secure. It is shameful considering what that man did for us.
It was eating him up inside and he knew there were some down years coming.
This statement right here is where we absolutely disagree. There is not one shred of objective evidence to support this. It is absolute conjecture to assert that Urban left because he was fearful of future “down years.” That has never been stated, nor is it true. It is a fiction written into the actual facts by people who can’t handle the fact that a guy would walk away from Florida or journalists looking to sensationalize a sexier version of the story....
The actual truth is that Urban burnt out...plain and simple...exactly as he has said. He never lied or misled anybody. The closest you can get to your assertion is that he may have felt that he could not mentally continue to operate at a level that would ensure the high level of success he established, and he realized that after the ‘09 SECCG loss. But he didn’t run away from Florida because of some fear of speculative “down years.”
In addition, Urban has never clarified the “broken” comment to mean what you (and those articles) speculate that it means, in fact, quite the opposite. The comment was actually a throw away comment in response to the 2010 loss to FSU. It had to do with the 2010 season which had a coaching charade (at Florida’s insistence) leading it, nothing more. Even the article you posted acknowledges that. Reading more into that comment is contrary to the facts, not consistent with them. And oh, by the way, Meyer himself has gone on record debunking that myth of “broken” players. See link below.
The one thing that sadgator will agree with is that Urban made a few mistakes in displine and player treatment. However, that isn’t the reason he quit at all. And if you picked apart any high profile program in the country, you’d find the same thing. The comments from players in the articles you cite are from, no surprise, disgruntled players who feel wronged because of this.
Urban didn’t lie, he didn’t fear anything, and he didn’t harm Florida. Those are myths, inconsistent with the facts. But myths make for sexier reading...and story telling....

Just not buying what Sad and a couple of others are saying about Meyer. He left a BROKEN program, not in the way of talent, but in the way of character, discipline and culture. Too many independent national reporters have dug into the situation at Florida in 2009-2011, interviewed players and coaches and concluded that Meyer left a broken program. And if you look at the 2010 recruiting class that was rated #1 in the 247 composite, look how many of those guys left or were booted after Muschamp took over and was charged with cleaning up the program. Not Ring of Honor material in my book.

Rumor's abound: A HS daughter slipping out the window late at night, and a wandering wife that was drifting away, can give you a heart attack,,, or at least a nervous break-down....Meyer needed to get away from Gainesville for 'family' reasons. Once he left town, he was fine.

Can we wait until Meyer is going into the RoH to spend this much time on him, instead of on the Gator that IS going into the RoH....
Moving right along...
It seems Tebow’s personal and professional life are both going great, and perhaps he’ll end up in the Major Leagues before the season is over. That could affect his SEC Network broadcasting career, but an MLB opportunity would be too much to pass up.
Tim Tebow usually keeps any kind of private info close to vest, but confirms to ESPN's Pedro Gomez that he is dating Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, the 2017 Miss Universe.
After rumors have been swirling about former Florida QB Tim Tebow’s current dating life, he has confirmed it to a reporter.
In recent weeks, Tebow has been spotted with 2017 Miss Universe winner Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
Now, Tebow has confirmed that he is dating Nel-Peters, who is from South Africa and has 1.1 million Instagram followers: (and so the congregation takes an instant numbers boost)

I doubt it, but maybe, never know.Thank god he is finally getting some
I doubt it, but maybe, never know.
Unlike most of us, he could have had all he could stand a long time ago, IF that was what he thought was most important in life.
I suspect that Tim is doing less than you and I would be going for...-- While they try to really get to know each other. Dating is not engaged, nor married.
We were 100% committed and engaged, but couldn't wait until the vows were said and done,-- but then we've also never gone elsewhere since then either.
Tim has waited this long, so I'm betting that he holds off until the vows are said and done. He also has a lot more invested in that line of action than most.![]()
Never need to read his posts, because they are always going to be,,, what they are, and what he will always be. This asswipe stalker arrives to spread his usual crap, and to be the lonely despised drunk loser that he is...

I'm not promoting UM to the ROH.What about the 1st 2 articles? Ignoring the incriminating evidence in those to poke fun of an article that you can ridicule. I thought the University of Florida was better than that. We always criticized Bobby Bowden and his relaxing of discipline and selective punishments, running a program of "Criminoles". And yet when our guy did it, it's fine because we won 2 national titles. The height of hypocrisy. Again, I thought Gators were better than that.

This single post wins the entire thread.Ask Tim Tebow if he likes Meyer and thinks he should be in the UF RoH or not?

Bowden understood that rehabilitation was better than punishment. He booted players, hell he booted randy moss, but he only did it if they crossed a red line
Blobby Bowdown had no red line with good players, he had 'Polish Rules' instead.
He NEVER 'cut off his nose, just to spite his face' where discipline was concerned, and he said so publicly.
Those 'good Chris-shan Boyz' only got booted if the Admin felt so pressured that they had to act, and not one second before.![]()

I remember LV Coles got booted after the Dillard's fiasco. Warrick I believe it was his first offense and he was suspended for a few games. Pretty much cost himself any Heisman hope that year.Bowden understood that rehabilitation was better than punishment. It is an interesting and valid point though. Folks love to hate on Meyer for his player favoritism, but then they love Tebow more than any other gator...who was like the poster child of Meyer’s favoritism.Lol yeah, sure. Because Tebow isn't biased at all.
Meyer treated him like a God.
I imagine he thinks he the tits (if Tebowmlike Tits)

He did get the 'Heistman' Award though, didn't he?
I seem to remember wearing a T-Shirt to the FSUcks game with that on it...![]()
