For decades, one of the most powerful recruiting tools that teams could use AGAINST their rivals was to point out that their head coach is not going to be at the school for the recruits entire 3-4 year career. For whatever reason: Taking a bigger job, old age, being fired, etc.
Well... that's EXACTLY what every school is telling every recruit about Napier right now... and it's working big time.
The media -- and half of our own fan base -- has made it their mission to point out how hot Napier's seat is right now... so you can't really blame any top recruit for wanting to wait and see what happens.
I'm not saying that Napier doesn't share a bit of the responsibility for putting himself into this situation... but as EH pointed out, nothing is going to change until this season plays out.
7 wins is a must. And we have to be competitive in all of our losses.
I'm not telling you anything you don't know. I'm just letting all of you know exactly what recruits are being told by rivals and why there's no amount of NIL money that can change this right now.
