So just got home from the game

At the end of the day, and this is it for my weekend, I've enjoyed UT's loss, enjoyed our win, gotta enjoy whats left of my Sunday, but there is this.

In no freaking way should Michigan be ranked come this weeks polls. Sick and damn tired of the media always giving them so much benefit of the doubt because they play a schedule of nothing but cupcakes all year long, and then 1 or 2 good teams which inevitably expose them for the frauds that they are. I might have to give up college football for a week or two if I see those clowns ranked in the top 10 after how badly they played. Take no offense on this Army, but the blackknights outplayed MU from start to finish and everyone was witness to that, regardless of the final score because of a fumble in overtime.

If we dropped 3 spots in the polls down to 11 because we played badly enough to just get a win over 0-2 Miami, why isn't michigan dropping out of the top 10 for playing badly enough to BARELY SCRAPE BY AN OVERTIME WIN over 0-2 Army? They said we played sloppy against Miami, well MU had 4 drives in the first half, and 3 of them ended in them turning the ball over. Almost exactly as sloppy as our 4 turnovers against Miami.

But whatever, I know they won't be treated the same way Florida was in the polls. Some homers will make sure they probably move UP in the polls no doubt rather than drop.

They’re not gonna drop because they’re a media darling. Auburn won’t drop for struggling with Tulane either. I think us being the week zero game ended up being a knock because we were the only big game on and people had a whole week to analyze every one of our mistakes to death. Plenty of other teams are out here struggling with worse teams and ain’t taking the same heat.

I thought Franks played well. Greatly improved accuracy and no turnovers. This is what you want from your QB, an improvement from the previous game's ills. No complaints here.

RB is what I am MOST concerned about. I know our OL is not helping but against this quality team it is hard to believe we did not have a 100 yard rusher. Without a balanced attack, we will not fare well against quality SEC teams.

Kudos to the defense. Stewart should be back for next game.

Agree with you there.
I don't agree with you folks. Many if not most Gators fans do not agree with you. Franks is at his ceiling and it's not in the same league as some of the greats we've had here. I can deal with a mediocre QB, everyone has their goods and bads. What makes Franks stand out as completely unlikable is that he is 100% immature. Kirk Herbstreit pointed that out the best after the Miami game. The guy is a redshirt junior and he still acts like he's in middle school. How is he supposed to be a leader. hamming it up with the camera during the Miami fans. Going at it with the Miami fans in the stands during the game when it was still very much in doubt that we would win? No QB does this and this is why Florida gets so much grief, because he acts like a damn 6 year old, not an adult. So because of his childish behavior, it is very very easy to point out his flaws at playing the position too.

It's just that some of you will look only at the rosy side of things no matter what. The truth is, the fans in the stands are groaning and screaming at all of the wide open receivers that he doesn't see down field. Many folks I have spoken to already have agreed that while he was 25-27 against UTM, at least 10 of those passes were very off target and it was only the skill of Van Jefferson, Grimes, and Cleveland who put their bodies on the line to make them completions. Yes that's what a receiver should do, but you can do that without punishing your receivers with all the unprotected hits they will take in doing so. Trasks' passes by comparison, while rough as he doesn't have the game experience, his passes are direct and accurate with timing, hitting receivers in stride. He shows just what could possibly be with this offense.

I don't care if you are on the Feliepe Franks fanclub. That's your thing. Just like I don't care if that one nitwit down the road is a damn liberal. Nobody is perfect. You watch the game and see one thing, i see something different. At the end of the day if Franks wasn't acting like he was still 6 years old, his own fans would definitely be able to embrace him a lot better than is currently the case. That and he wouldn't have the national media calling him out for his immature behavior.

Lol@ 10 passes being off target in a game where a QB completes 25 of 27 passes. That’s nonsense. And nobody cares what fans in the stands are groaning about, most of them are ignorant and don’t understand what they’re watching. It’s pretty simple, most of you have a personal dislike of Franks and view all his performances through that lense. I gotta love the praising of Trask too who threw a ball right to a defender not even standing 5 yards away from him, and this was against their second string defense. You and the people around you clearly have no clue what you’re watching.

Some of you really need to look in the mirror. You’re bitching about him sushing his own fans well maybe it you idiots weren’t booing a kid in his own stadium the sushing never happens. So it would seem to me the grown ass people who can’t keep from throwing tantrum in the stadium are the immature ones. With each passing day I dislike UF fans more and more. Ignorant and loud is the worse combination.

Franks had a great game last night. End of story. He didn’t throw 10 bad passes. Stop making shit up! Did you even watch the game? No he’s not a great QB with the like of Wuerffel, Grossman, Tebow, etc. Nobody is saying that. But whether you like it or not he’s the best we got.

Whine about weaker links on the team like the safety play and run blocking.

I'm not a big Franks fan, but he played a really good game Saturday night. He is obviously the best QB on the team right now (otherwise Mullen & Co. would have another one in there). I'm behind him all the way and pulling for him to get better and better. He loves being a Gator and I hope he succeeds because the team's success depends on it. Goooo Gators.

Very few teams have A+ QB's, most don't even have B's. The only A+ QB in college football right now is Trevor Lawrence. Maybe you put Tua up there but he's horrible against top 25 defenses and this is with a loaded roster around him. Our fans are just delusional, we weren't winning a championship this year regardless of who was at QB. But people can't accept that and would rather blame the QB who they feel is keeping us from winning it all.

Just watching the game now - had a dad/daughter dance last night lol. Franks' ball placement on each throw is 10x better than last year. The only time I think he looks "off" - same with the Miami game - is when he doesn't have support from the running game. We are a running team that right now, can't push people around - that'll be an issue later in the year and will put more pressure/magnification on Franks.

Hilarious that he had the nerve to say 10 of his passes were off?? Really? You can’t make stuff up like that

Dear Desmond Howard,,, you're a meatchicken jerk!

'On Game Day' -- Talking about the Miami vs N.C. game, he said; "Miami had the game in hand and gave it away to Florida, a +7.5 point favorite."

Sorry twit, but UF would have won by 2-3 TD if they didn't have 4 unforced turnovers, 20+ missed tackles, and a load of flags. Just a bad day for the Gators... Just like they beat your meatchickens by +26 in their last game of 2018.

The media-moroons  of the AP Poll dropped UF from #8 to #11 after UF beat Power-5 Miami by +4 on a neutral field.

So tell me Desmond, how far should #7 Mich be dropped for finally beating unranked Army by +3 in freakin' double OT at home, since they were a +22 point favorite going in to the game? o_O

Florida fans have always picked one player in multiple sports throughout their career and rode the piss out of them as a scape goat for any flaws. Granted some were deserved but many times some are stretched to the max.

Felipe Franks damn near threw for 100 percent. Ran effectively when needed, had 0 fumbles and 0 picks. Threw deep passes, threw to the safety valve, threw medium range passes and he is still critiqued to the fullest. Not a darn mention of Kyle Pitts tripping on his own feet with 20 yards of green in front of him or a dropped pass in the endzone. It's Franks fault Pitts was tackled by air or the fault Franks threaded a needle and made the pass too easy to catch in the endzone.

It's Doug Johnson's fault...it's Patric Young's fault...it's Keyvaughn Allen's fault...it's Kasey Hill s fault. It's Molondos fault...hell it was Dan Wagner's fault we didn't score 60 points last night. I say Cody Dent is to blame.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, that's not just a Florida thing. We can eat our own with the best of them.

Hilarious that he had the nerve to say 10 of his passes were off?? Really? You can’t make stuff up like that

Or that he just dinked and dunked. Franks already has 3 completions for more than 65 yards...leads the entire country outright. Even if you take out the Toney TD pass which was a screen he still has 2 which then makes him tied for first instead of leading outright. It's really pathetic when people will just outright make up stuff to criticize a player.

Even if Miami is not good this year it is still a good win when you beat a rival!
Heck, if I were a Georgia fan, I'd call any win over in state rival Georgia Tech a good win, or vice versa. I sure miss the Georgia-Clemson series. That rivalry was almost as great as the Florida Georgia rivalry.

I caught the end of yalls game. Franks was coaching up your other two QBs on the sidelines and cheering them on. Looks like he had a hell of a game. If I were a Gator fan wanting to downplay his performance last night I’d just bring up that it was against UT-Martin and quit slobbering all over overrated media analysts and making stuff up. So as your rival I’ll say, he beat up on UT-Martin who cares? You should let him transfer, we have a spot for him.

I really don’t think many of our fans watch all the other QB’s around the country to see how bad QB play in general is. It’s terrible. Teams like Michigan would kill for somebody like Franks. Franks has his own issues but he’s the best QB we’ve had in a decade and for some reason most of our fans can’t help but bitch about him nonstop.

Because dumb ignorant Gator fans just assume all our QBs are supposed to be as good as Wuerffel, Grossman, Matthews & Tebow.

Interesting fact. In 2006 when we won the national title with Leak as the QB that last year Franks threw more TDs, less interceptions and had a better QB rating than Leak did in 2006.

Preaching to the choir brotha. It really is embarrassing.

I think most fans of southern teams want their QBs to be teetotalers too. Your QB talked shit to Miami fans. I know you guys don’t play them every year but there’s like 100% chance those Miami fans deserved far worse. They’re the worst. As you’ve pointed out, oozie, Tebow talked a lot of shit but was also a choir boy so it was overlooked. Grossman was a shit talker too but he was a Spurrier protege so again overlooked. Right now you have the Miami game and whatever game he shooshed the crowd. Other than that he’s been in shitty situations due to bad coaches and now has a legitimate coach teaching him. I don’t really see what any of your fan base is complaining about other than a couple instances which are overblown.

Not every QB is going to have Wuerffel or Charlie Ward temperaments. If they did maybe they wouldn’t be as good. Tom Brady is a firey QB as is Phillip Rivers. Peyton Manning got into a physical altercation with his Center on the sidelines. But Franks, you should cut him. We have a spot. I’ll pick up his bags personally.

Yep. Definitely think that’s a part in it too. Everybody wants the QB to be Tebow or Wuerful but Franks hasn’t had any issues off the field. He’s arrogant on the field but so what. Tebow was far worse but everybody loved him so it was overlooked.

Tebow did the phone signal to the LSU student section. Tebow would run in the middle of kickoff huddles and even defense huddles. Tebow did the Gator chomp to an OK DB.

Franks shooshed a booing home crowd, hyped up the Gator fans sitting behind the bench and jawed a little with the Miami fans that were interrupting him.

Would Franks get a pass if he wore Bible verse eye patches and said God Bless after statements?!

Like Oozie said, he has been clean of the field.

Remember not long ago we had QBs taking illegal vitamins and another one smoking hella weed riding in ghost cars stoned out of his mind or smoking out with the star WR and a group of cleat chasing girls putting himself in sexual assault situations.

Leak might be the most underrated Gator ever.

I bet Mullen and the mighty Gators would have stomped all over Clemson!
I certainly expected A&M to give them a much better game. They basically got dominated and scored a garbage TD at the end of the game. A&M gave them a better game last year.

Agree - Probably because Clemson was at home, was more focused after the close game last year - plus the fact that Texas A&M had been running their mouths about how they were going to beat them.

More interesting facts...

Leak was splitting time (80/20) with Tebow and playing a much tougher SoS.
And Leak didn't have 3 U-glee losses where he stunk on ice.
Leak's only loss was @ 11-2 Auburn 27 - 17 UF

I would like to see the numbers compared with just the legit teams taking the cupcakes (FCS teams and Col State) out. I highly doubt Franks had better numbers in those games.

Yeah but come on - there were like 45 future NFL players on that Leak team...not so much with Franks.

Agree. It is coming back soon but only for a couple of years. I would love for it to be every year.

Not only did Leak have the better team around him, he was also in year 2 with Tebow to help with all his shortcomings (short yardage, running load, etc.). Franks was in year 1 with a worse team and nobody to spell him and give the offense a jump when he wasn’t producing. But why let facts get in the way.
