If you ever get a chance to watch the 30-for-30 on Nike and Sonny Vaccaro - do it. It is a interesting look at how the sneaker wars started. Basically, how Nike built their brand.

As sketchy as many think football recruiting in the south is, it looks tame compared to the UAA basketball circuit.

UA has been making some gains in the sneaker wars - having both the hottest golfer and reigning NBA MVP on their side.

Nike of course is trying to protect their territory.

UA has had a top basketball prospects event planned forever. Seeing that they were bringing in some of the top kids in the country - at the very last minute Nike threw together their own event to try to lure some of the kids from the UA event.
