Since Jimbo is going to LSU, who will be the next FSU Head Coach?

I had coffee with Jimbo this morning and asked him about LSU. He replied, "Not interested but I just might get a raise!" We both laughed........Bwahahahhahahah!

What the hell was he talking about?

I still don't get what LSU sees in Fisher.

His main talent is recruiting, which is important in Florida. But LSU has no competition, other than the occasional poaching from out of state schools.

Fisher is basically the world's greatest dentist, and LSU is a patient who already has rows of magnificent teeth, but has a 90 percent blockage in his arteries. They need a cardiologist, not a dentist.

Fisher is good, but for the $6+ million, plus a housing allowance, that LSU is supposedly offering him, they can't find anyone better? I like him, but if he leaves, it shouldn't be difficult to find a good HC who's willing to take what we're paying Jimbo to coach at FSU.

If Jimbo is the worlds greatest dentist I know a guy in Gainesville who desperately needs a spot in his chair.

my family was a Bull Gator and was the dentist for the Gators for decades, some of you probably knew who he was here...

So it's LSU and TEXAS fighting for Herman?

IF LSU doesn't land an absolute HOME RUN, Alleva is GONE, and he still might be.

It makes sense for Jimbo to go to LSU, but if he does not, good for FSU. He is obviously a good coach, so of course I'd like to see him leave FSU. His stock isn't at all all time high, but it's still high. It seems like a logical move.

Fisher to LSU and Herman to Texas make the most sense, but you never know. I thought for sure STOOPS was going to come to UF at some point.

You never know how these negotiations are going. The media report about Herman to LSU could always be a planted story by LSU. Agents and Athletic Departments are rarely candid with regards to the progress of negotiations.

He was never going to LSU. He's not uprooting his kids just to be in "muh sec." LSU is shite show and they're going to get stuck with Orgeron just watch.

if LSU is a shit show what are most of the other programs in college lol.. they have just a decent coach and they are at 2 losses at worst every season

Money is the difference, FSU has an easier path than Ohio State used to to getting in the playoff scene, that's the only reason a coach would want to stay.

I don't think it's so easy. This year FSU had a top 10 schedule. The only reason he would stay? Other than it being his childhood dream job, top notch facilities, great tradition and a loaded roster. Many reasons to stay.

Historically, it was easier.

But conferences have changed, significantly, since 2011, when the SEC was at its zenith. The ACC is now a stable, middle-of-the-pack, conference in the P5, instead of being a perpetual laggard that is in danger of collapse.

So YOU'RE Jimbo's ghey houseboy. Mazel tov!

UF can use this on the recruiting trail the way FSU used Spurrier's flirtations against him back in the day. "Are you sure about FSU? Jimbo may not be there your entire career..."

I don't think Jimbo will leave for a million dollar per year raise. If he leaves, he's probably afraid that things will go downhill at FSU for a while, and he wants to jump while his stock is high. If he thinks he's got good years ahead at FSU, he'll stick around.
