Sometimes people get arrested. Sometimes those people are college football players. Sometimes an alarming percentage of the football players getting arrested come from a small group of teams.
But which team actually has the most arrests? Depending on where your biases lie, it might feel to you like one team has a lot more arrests than the others – a lot of you are thinking about a team from the Sunshine State right now – but what does the data say? Well, Mike Rosenberg used reported arrest statistics compiled from arrestnation.com to come up with the 25 most-arrested FBS programs of the past five years.
A few things to keep in mind:
1) These are just reported arrests, since we don't, by definition, know about unreported arrests. Consequently, smaller programs with less media attention might be underrepresented.
2) Unlike the Fulmer Cup, these arrests are not weighted by severity. So drunk and disorderly counts just as much as grand theft auto.
3) Arrests don't always result in a charge.
With that in mind, behold the 25 teams with the most frequently handcuffed players.
1) Washington State: 31
2) Florida: 24
T-3) Georgia: 22
T-3) Texas A&M: 22
5) Oklahoma: 21
T-6) Iowa State: 20

Would you have ever guessed that Wazzu would have a touchdown lead on the team in second place?
