SEC/NCAA tourney thread

Funny how Will Wade was on FSU's wish list then settled for a former player with very little assistant coaching experience. Then Wade accepts the same position at NC State. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Kind of a slower day yesterday and just 2 mild upsets with McNeese and Drake winning and not a lot of games up for grabs in the last minute. I do think the two 8/9 seed game winners Creighton and Gonzaga might be legit threats to possibly upset the # 1 seeds they play next however.

Hoping for a # 13 to # 15 seed to upset someone today.

Miss State loses. Bama struggled a bit. Nelson came in late in 2nd half and looked fine. Clifford rolled his ankle a bit and I think that led to Nelson coming in more than anything, but Clifford came back in later so hopefully he's good as well. Stevenson inured his wrist, it was taped and he returned, although I don't remember seeing him shooting after he did.

Hopefully we will be close to 100% on Sunday. Need better 3 pt shooting for sure.

UConn is definitely a dangerous game but I would still take them over catching Gonzaga in this spot.

UF could very well lose this game but what am I seeing that makes UCONN a dangerous team? They struggled vs Oklahoma and their guards are slow. Their championship teams had dominant guards who are no longer on the team.

So 8 SEC teams left to move on to second round.

IMO we need to get at least 6 teams to the Sweet 16. Bama, UF, Tenn, Auburn, UK and A&M all should win if they take care of business. Ole Miss is capable. Arkansas is in trouble.

If everyone that is supposed to win does, then Auburn will have to play A&M and UK will have to play UT in the Sweet Sixteen. So we could get 6 teams to the Elite Eight.

Yep they definitely don't have the guard play they had with the championship teams. They will have to slow the game down like they did against Oklahoma to have a chance against us. Hurley is a pretty smart coach though.

Here we go. If this team stays focused I don't think UConn can beat us. If we do win today I think Maryland is pretty likely our Sweet 16 opponent. Colorado St is capable of an upset but I highly doubt it happens.

7 SEC teams left. IIRC, we can get a max of 7 to Sweet 16, I suspect we get 6.

IIRC, we can get a max of 6 to the elite 8, I suspect we get 4.

I believe we can get 4 to the Final Four, I think we get 2.

St Mary's looked pretty good their last game. Might be a good game.

I thought we were done for a while there. Clayton on defense and our bigs better wake up if we want to make the Final Four.

SEC sets the record for most Sweet Sixteen teams with 7.

2016 ACC has the record for Elite Eight teams (4) and Final Four (2).

The former high school valedictorian and team manager Bennett Andersen scored another bucket.
That Maryland kid Queen is a load to handle. He looks weird, like a 13 year old man child in a sloppy looking body. He damned sure doesn't look like an athlete but he is one hell of a basketball player and only a freshman.

I kept saying he's almost as difficult to stop as Greg Oden was, but the refs did nothing but coddle him every time our guys laid a finger on him. That was total BS.

He reminded me of Charles Barkley when he played for the Barners, just something about his goofy ass, I can't put my finger on it. 😂

Barkley was just 6'4" while Queens traveling ass is 6'10." Barkley moved around well for a 270lb player. As for Queen, he'll most likely be drafted shortly after Cooper Flagg.
