They went something like 7 minutes without a FG till Flagg hit a 3. In a way I wanted more payback from Puke as we lost the last two meetings back when Mike White was in his 2nd and 3rd season.
The Duke fans I worked with back then talked about how Kasey Hill and Cheez were thorns in their rears.
In all if the excitement about the team, this was totally passed over. Very deserving by Eddie Munster.
Congrats to UConn girls on getting another title and was awesome watching South Carolina coach Dawn Staley cussing and fussing in her Louis Vuitton outfit.
It was extremely annoying watching ESPN put the cameras on Staley the whole time during the UF-USCe matchup. Thank God for Will Richard and his game winning basket.

Yep it would be a much bigger story if we lost. One good thing about getting Houston is I think we are a little less likely to get screwed by the refs than if it was Duke.
In hindsight, sadgator kinda wishes that Duke had won so that Florida’s experience might be able to take advantage of that inexperience in a similar way.
That being said, it is hard to play the “what if” game.
Either way, Florida just has to play its game, do what it has been doing, and hope to get some fortunate situations upon which they can capitalize. Houston will not be an easy out…but neither will Florida…

If it is in the 80s we win. If it is 75+, we probably win. If it is < 70, they win. If it is low 70s, they probably win.
Since Feb 1, Houston has only scored in the 80s three times (and they barely did that at 82, 81 & 80). They have only scored >75 three more times. They are VERY good defensively and want a game in the low 70s, or preferably the 60s.
They want a half court game, we want an up tempo game. Whoever best instills their will on the other will win the game.

In short, coach agrees with me.
They can play some good defense. Unless we are really hitting our 3pt shots good we need Condon and Haugh to come through on offense for us this game. They need to really rebound good and make some shots when they have the chance. Houston's starting bigs play really good defense though so it won't be easy.
Yep - We need a complete team game to win tonight, IMO. Condon & Chinyelu have to make their chippy shots at the rim and they've not been doing that very well of late. Huagh needs to keep playing like he has been and Handlogten needs to move his feet and not foul every time he tries to block a shot. Aberdeen needs to not dribble so much and he and Condon need to make crisper passes and not throw the ball away. Clayton probably won't be allowed to go off like he did Friday and so Richard needs to score more points than he has been. Martin needs to keep bringing his tough mentality to the team and do his thing. Overall, our guards need to play good defense at the arc and, also, take care of the ball and get good ball movement to work for open shots. Houston is an excellent defensive team, they are relentless on the boards and even when not hitting their shots, like against Duke, they find ways to hang in the game. It would be nice to open a lead early and not have to make halftime adjustments to come from behind.

Once the game starts, I will probably only post during halftime and after the game. I use a desktop PC and it's in a different room from my 65" OLED Samsung TV. Should be fun and, hopefully, not too stressful. Go Gators!

Yep Condon struggling on offense and Houston is playing to that. Golden can earn his money figuring out what to do with Clayton.
They are shadowing Clayton all over the court. Play Richard and Clayton at the same time. Richard looks ready to explode and get a lot of good looks. He's done this before and they can't do that to both of them. Maybe play Aberdeen with those two as well. One of them is going to be wide open if they keep shadowing Clayton.
Turnovers are killing us and Clayton is frustrated by the defense and not playing well. If not for Will Richard it would be a blowout in their favor. Only down by 3 at the half is a true blessing. Have to take better care of the ball, stop turning it over and be more efficient on offense. If Clayton and Martin get it going, we'll win. Refs are letting them play, as we've only been called for 1 foul, Houston 3. We got a huge break on an obvious goaltend by Handlogten that wasn't called. We're outrebounding them 22-19, but they have 8 more shots than us because of turnovers. The game is being played at Houston's pace and we've got a battle on our hands. Just like the Auburn game, we were outplayed the first half. Let's see if we can turn it around the 2nd half. Houston's defense is the real deal and Clayton has to find his game and not try to force it. He has 5 assists, but can't forcve crazy shots. We're shooting 37.9%, Houston 37.8%. We're at 28.6% from the arc, Houston 14.3%. It's anybody's game. QUIT TURNING THE BALL OVER!!!
Gators saved their absolute worst for last, this is a full team choke job
We shall see in an hour or so. With Martin only scoring 2 and Clayton 0 and only to be down by 3, the opportunity is there to win the game. Just have to stop turning it over. Their defense is frustrating us, but we've played good defense as well. Just have to quit turning it over and get Martin & Clayton going. Bigs are holding their own. We can do this!
If Klavzar wasn't such a defensive liability I'd put his ass in there with two other guards and see if they leave him wide open. He can shoot the 3s. Playing a zone defense, of course.
