Looks like f$u recruited a bunch of 1-2 year portal players with no loyalty to the team or coach.

Go Canes!
You're half right.

Novell intentionally went poral/mercenary heavy to build a team around J-Trav to make a championship run. It worked too.

The kids aren't transferring (which would be a sign of disloyalty, IMO), they're opting out for the NFL. UGA has a ton of transfers (15) rather than opt outs (3--I think). Players like Verse came back specifically to win a championship. Why would they play in a meaningless bowl and jeopardize their draft status? Verse, Coleman, Benson, Wilson, Jones, etc. are all going to the NFL, so what is to be gained by playing? The committee basically said the games don't matter.

The playoffs have destroyed the bowl games. I think Syracuse started a TE and QB and got throttled 45-0. The teams in the bowls aren't the teams that got them their.

In other news. What conference to you want to see Miami in, SEC or B1G? The ACC is dead (and they did it to themselves through ignorance and nepotism).

Oooo, the back-up bowl is getting a little better:

The Bulldogs are expected to be without star tight end Brock Bowers and offensive tackle Amarius Mims against the Seminoles after neither player was spotted when Georgia arrived in South Florida on Tuesday evening.

He didn't play in our game either. Delp is just as good I think. With Jawjaw it's like playing wack a mole.

Both teams will be without 19 players. About halfway down is the Orange bowl. I don't know who of these players will be missed.

While UGA has a few starters out, it's nothing compared to what FSU has out. It's going to be a bunch of freshmen and sophomores vs the majority of UGA's starters.

We've got a 3rd string QB (true freshman) backed up by two walk-on freshman. Running back is commical with our 4th String RB, backed up by 6th string RB and two guys who were WRs until last week. I could go on, but you get the picture.

Score prediction:

72-0

Our punter may become a Heisman candidate.

FSU's going to be fired up to show the committee they made a mistake.

What does the 2024 team have to do with the 2023 team? That team has moved on. FSU will finish 13-0 while the 2024 team will start off 0-1.

The committee must have had the foresight that the nolie players had no loyalty to the coach, team or institution

Go Canes!
Miami players are loyal because most of them can’t find their way north of Dade County.

Apparently the Holes players didn't get the memo about the importance of looking good against a top SEC team.

This is what separates them and a true national champion like Central Florida. The Central F players took the bowl game and the opportunity to make a statement. If I were a Holes fan, I'd say Fuchs Jared Verse and all those other opting out p¥ssys.

The playoffs have destroyed the bowl games.
Not really. The BCS destroyed the bowl games.

The Bowl games (other than the Championship) haven’t mattered in 25 years.

In today’s climate, it’s just become more “acceptable” or commonly expected that good players will sit these out.

The expanded playoffs can improve the situation somewhat, by making more bowls relevant again.

But there will always be a set of lesser bowls that are meaningless and have massive opt outs. If you look at those games like pre-season games for next year rather than an extension of the current season, they can be interesting…

But on the whole, yeah, it sucks, and we’re never going back to a time where they will have meaning (to the extent that they ever did).

This UGA-FSU is in a vacuum and has no relevance to anything.
