Here is my thing with this vaccine. Encourage people to get it but giving them a choice, the government has teamed up with business to restrict the non vaxxers from the vaxxers. They use lingo like if you’re vaxxed, you can now do this. The “you can now do this” is our own personal freedom. I’m my opinion, it is also discriminatory for any business to enforce such draconian authority. However, one who is not vaccinated can shop somewhere else.Summation: Rethink our strategy based on available knowledge. Gives credence to the idea of not vaccinating those not a high risk, and certainly not anyone below the age of 35 unless they have risk factors.
@fatman76 thought you might want to share this with your child, maybe get him to change his mind and rethink the groupthink he was feed. It's highly technical and heavy in statistical math but accurate and consistent with what many of us in the medical profession have long thought, though it is just one doctors mathematical review of the research.
I agree with you, but here's the thing where I live. I was vaccinated (Pfizer) in December and January. I was given a vaccine card. I carry it in my wallet. They stopped requiring mask for those vaccinated in New Orleans, as one example, a month ago. I stopped wearing my mask. To date, NO ONE has ever asked to see my vaccine card. It is being done on the "honor" system. Given that, everyone must be vaccinated because no one is wearing mask anymore except for when required for employees (I still have to wear mine in the hospitals I work at, for example). Here is my thing with this vaccine. Im also big on the work place staying out of their employees health decisions. That does include hospitals but I do understand the hospital point of view. I do not understand the point of forcing @BSC911 to get the vaccine as a fry cook being that he works in extreme heat to get fries golden brown.
In Utah, we don’t care anymore. Bars, restaurants, movie theaters, etc. do not care.I agree with you, but here's the thing where I live. I was vaccinated (Pfizer) in December and January. So effectively, in most cases, where I live, their are no extra restrictions for those not vaccinated. Now this may not be true where you live or on airlines or cruise ships, but I suspect no one is really checking for vaccine cards outside those unique circumstances.
AgreedIn Utah, we don’t care anymore. Bars, restaurants, movie theaters, etc. do not care.
I’m definitely not anti vax, I do want to see more long term data before I pin up, if I choose to pin up.
In the mean time, I’m trying to get down to Gainesville in 2022 for the Utes/Gators game. If I’m not vaxxed by then, I will make a counterfeit card vax card in order to fly.
I encourage everyone’s right to choose to get the vax and will never condemn anyone for getting it but my personal instincts are if someone tells me I have to do something, I will always do the opposite and so the more I’m being told to get the vax, chances are I won’t 🤷🏻♂️
I do find your findings and research fascinating and look forward to see the progress you make with treating the severely sick due to covid.Agreed
Well all of those agencies have become highly political through the years. And believe me I never listen to the NIH, they’re a research organization and I’m not a researcher. I’m a bedside doctor. I’ll leave the NIH to our boy @swissgatorI do find your findings and research fascinating and look forward to see the progress you make with treating the severely sick due to covid.
There is a lot of misinformation out there but I do think you’re on the right course. I hate to use the term “listen to the science”, but we need more docs like you navigating through the mess.
Just don’t be like @G8trDad3 who just blindly follows the CDC, NIH and WHO. As you know, those agencies have been corrupted with garbage.
Yeah that’s stupid on a lot of levels but I will say that any kids it’s in the Make-A-Wish foundation probably does have wrist factors that might make it warranted but then again sadly most of them don’t have that long to live anyway. But yes this is completely ludicrous. This is the epitome of what I’m referring to and is drastically turning people off to getting the vaccine.

Oh one more thought. Mostly in this study they measure outcomes as mortality, which does not look at the impact of morbidity or the economic impact of another major outbreak that stresses our hospitals like it did twice last year. The vaccine prevents those events and has very positive implications on the economy in terms of keeping commerce open, that is not factored into this study and is directly related to the thread yesterday on should college teams be vaccinated to avoid game and season interruptions. Look at how that impacted NC State.I do find your findings and research fascinating and look forward to see the progress you make with treating the severely sick due to covid.

Agree, thanks.Summation: Rethink our strategy based on available knowledge. Gives credence to the idea of not vaccinating those not a high risk, and certainly not anyone below the age of 35 unless they have risk factors.

As you know I’ve never been a big fan of this vaccine below the age of 35, benefits just do not outweigh the risk in that age group if you just look at it from a adverse reaction versus reduction of mortality rate viewpoint.Agree, thanks.
The CDC has come out and finally admitted that young males are many times more likely to be hospitalized from the second shot than the illness itself.
I’m hoping the Novavax works with fewer side effects.
That all makes senseOh one more thought. That is yet another thing that must be factored into vaccine polices.
Minimum two weeks delay. That all makes sense
In terms of NC State, delay the tournament until the team is healthy 🤷🏻♂️
If that is what it takes then sure. They earned the right to be there by way of winning throughout the tournament, they deserve a chance to win it all.Minimum two weeks delay.
Protocols here for contact tracing have changed. I think it’s 5-7 days and then two negative PCR tests in a row.Minimum two weeks delay.
Thoughts on Novavax? As you know I’ve never been a big fan of this vaccine below the age of 35, risk just do not outweigh the benefits if you just look at it from a adverse reaction versus reduction of mortality rate viewpoint.

This is great. Here’s a good 20 minute interview with a 25 year pediatrician on this topic. She’s personally given many thousands of vaccines over her career, so can hardly be dismissed as some sort of “anti-vaxxer.” You can tell she’s horrified about all of this, including the censorship and suppression of information.
One of the best quotes from the interview: “I’ve done my research.” (replies the person who just received the vaccines). No, you ARE the research.

What a better way to keep the attention on covid? Politicize the variants. This is great.
That’s my issue - let’s just be honest. If my 15YO wants to get the vax then make the risk information easy to find. The odds are still low his heart gets inflamed, but tell me those odds.
Numbers across the country are so far down, will there ever be a time when we can de-politicize this issue?

I do not disagree with anything she said and again I do not support Vaccination in that age group but I will remind everybody I did have to code an 18-year-old girl that died from coronavirus vasculitis. It’s an unfortunate disease that is put the the entire world into a conundrum for which you have to make Some difficult decisions. This is great.

There is no doubt that Anthony Fauci and the NIH has a great deal to lose in this situation if the origins are traced successfully or if they are proven to have been wrong in their original vaccination strategy. Fear is a powerful motivatorWhat a better way to keep the attention on covid? Politicize the variants.
Here is the biggest difference between you and I. You got the vaccine to fit in. It wasn’t about your health, it wasn’t to protect others as you so falsely claim. It was just to fit in. You want to be able to brag to others about getting the vaccine and then ridicule others for not getting it. That’s judging and thou shall not judge.Yeah, many children have that same attitude.
"You can't make me eat my vegetables."

Yes, I question everything. If it doesn’t pass the smell test, I wait until I get all the info before making a decision. If someone or something continuously pushes something where I don’t have the data, you’re damn right I will resist. If that’s me being a kid, I’ll take it.
Hahaha. Like you really know me.Here is the biggest difference between you and I. You got the vaccine to fit in. It wasn’t about your health, it wasn’t to protect others as you so falsely claim. Who said I listen to conspiracy theorists? Why? Because I know about Q and found it interesting so I looked into it.Hahaha. Like you really know me.
Sure, question everything. But I listen to the experts, fallible as they may be. You seem to listen to nut job conspiracy theorists, and people that confirm your biases. You are the worst kind. Someone that thinks he's a free thinker, yet always follows the same right wing ideology.
Yeah that’s stupid on a lot of levels but I will say that any kids it’s in the Make-A-Wish foundation probably does have wrist factors that might make it warranted but then again sadly most of them don’t have that long to live anyway. But yes this is completely ludicrous.
Let me know when you post something not in lockstep with Ghost and the rest of his cronies. Or are you afraid to call them out for their nonsense?Who said I listen to conspiracy theorists? Why? Because I know about Q and found it interesting so I looked into it.
Please point to anything I’ve posted that has been conspiracy based where I believe it? I brought info regarding the covid origins to the board before it hit MSM. Was that a conspiracy theory? I’m sure you thought it was at the time.
And yes, I know you’re kind. If you’re not getting the pat on the back, you seek the attention. We’ve talked about this all before. Dementia Joe has rubbed off on you.
I have no problem calling anyone out at anytime, you of all people should know that Arnie.Let me know when you post something not in lockstep with Ghost and the rest of his cronies. Or are you afraid to call them out for their nonsense?
I don’t make fun of him, he gives me free french friesI have no problem calling anyone out at anytime, you of all people should know that Arnie.
Your bullshit is a lot more fun to call out hence why everyone makes fun of you.
Oh no, a bunch of sheep make fun of me. You’re not fooling anyone. Same lame jokes, just trying to fit in.I have no problem calling anyone out at anytime, you of all people should know that Arnie.

You sound very upset, do we need another therapy session?Oh no, a bunch of sheep make fun of me. You’re not fooling anyone. Same lame jokes, just trying to fit in.
Here’s your sign.
I could have guessed that would be your response. When exposed as a fraud, you resort to the same lame, “you mad, bro” deflection. You sound very upset, do we need another therapy session?
Daddy is here for you
Fraud? How am I fraud? I swear, you live in fantasy land.I could have guessed that would be your response. When exposed as a fraud, you resort to the same lame, “you mad, bro” deflection.
Nope, I just like calling you out for the sheep that you are. Sorry that your feelings were hurt.
You’re a fraud that because you pretend to be some independent thinker, yet follow along with the rest of the dorks on here. No original thoughts at all, and afraid to step out from your posse.
