Recruiting Issues

What major program has hired two back to back TERRIBLE football coaches.
It happens all the time. More often than not. Look at OU in the 90's, Miami recently, Texas in like forever, bama between between Stallings and Saban. Most coaches don't last past 5 years, the vast majority don't.

it still wouldn't matter because there is nothing to coach them to win

Amazes me when a Nole tells everyone UF can't win with 3 stars.

Alabama 09 was loaded with 3 stars, over half the roster.

Winston's Nattie came on the back of a team loaded with 3 stars.

They found underated players and used them to build championship teams.

So yeh you can build without a top five class.

But to keep on top your better off with a top 5 class.

But Mac is who he is,he's not Urban,no one not named Saban is either.

Give him time if he wins recruiting will improve. He needs help but those needs are being built.

What on Earth are you talking about???

Before Alabama won the title in 2009, they landed the #1 rated class in both 2008 and 2009.

Before FSU won the title in 2013, their prior 5 classes averaged a #7 ranking.

Francois is a redshirt you idiot. Another dumb Nole fan has graced our presence. We should all be so lucky.

Eason is the starting QB on a 4-4 team and USCe is 3-5.
USC is now 5-4. Would have been better had Samuel, Dowdle and Bentley been able to play at the beginning of the year. Bentley not only is a true freshman but at 17 years of age (just turned 18 last week) should be playing his senior year of HS. Right now, 18 years old, he is the best QB in the East Division. Don't be shocked if our team, youngest in the land (75% of roster frosh and sophs) take down the mighty Gators.

and that is going to show up in a big way saturday, if our two LB's were playing and didn't get tackled and illegally chop blocked all day by those goons it would look even worse for him...

UF only has 9 Sr's with any playing time at all, and 3 of those are now injured out for the season and 2 more that are playing injured right now.

Earlier in the season, UF played 15 freshmen in a game, 7 on offense and 8 on the defense. That might have to be increased this week, including maybe playing a tFr with zero game time at QB. o_O

So cry to us why don't you...

Every team has injuries at this point of the season. Sounds like UF has a ton of em. We all wish them a speedy recovery beginning late Saturday afternoon.

Hey, thanks for those heartfelt best wishes. o_O

And if musclecramp sucks it up as a lamecock, and if/when UF fires Mc, you can then hire your 3rd former Gator coach... And good luck with that...

Hey man you can't argue with the first one and truthfully the second one looks pretty damned good right now. Hopefully it'll be a while before we need #3.

I wouldn't say excited but certainly it's better than anyone on the planet expected.
win 2 of the last 3 and he should be seriously considered for coach of the year in the SEC. Few thought USC would have a winning record. Winning record with wins against UT and UF? That is a heck of an accomplishment.

Never thought I'd see the day a MIGHTY GATOR would make excuses why he might lose playing Carolina at home .How the mighty have fallen. Why don't you just forfeit the game and save us a lot of trouble.

And it's also why reFSUcks joined the Almost Competitive (Dukie, WF, etc) instead of the SEC... ;)

Always thought that lamecocks whining about their injured players was a yearly normal.

Always thought that Mama-fold lamecock would admit that playing the Gators was always a Lot of Trouble for them, and begging UF to just forfeit to give them a sure thing W for a change...

The mighty can still look down on the lamecocks as the SECe's littlest, of little brothers. :p
And win or lose on Saturday, that won't change a bit... o_O

OMG, a perennial loser lamecock calling anyone, much less a Gator, a loser....

UF is currently 6-2, 4-2 SEC.
Where are the lamecocks currently?

Well, little brother just might whip your big bad asses this Saturday, followed by beatings in basketball and then baseball. Seems little brother has grown up.

Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then.....your 3 ncaa tournament appearances in the last 25 years by your bball team is very cute!

Bama comes to mind for back to back to back failures.

More solid proof that Mc-staff can't recruit comes this week.

SEC Freshman Player of the Week ---- WR Tyrie Cleveland tFr ****
His 98 yd TD stands as the 2nd-longest TD passing play overall, the longest TD passing play against an SEC opponent, and the longest play by a tFr in program history.
With his 124 receiving yards, he became the 3rd tFr in UF football history to have a 100+ yard receiving game, joining (Reidel Anthony 1994 - Antonio Callaway 2015). >>> BTW, 2 of those 3 WR's are Mc-staff recruits... o_O

SEC Defensive Player of the Week --- ILB David Reese tFr ***
(11 Tks vs SCa & 12 Tkls vs LSU since ILB Jarrad Davis went out injured)

SEC Special Teams Player of the Week - Kicker Eddy Pinero rsSo ***
(he scored 10 of UF's 16 pts vs LSU, including FG's of 36-26-34)
----------
+ SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week x2, LT/LG Martez Ivey So *****

Note the class levels on the Gator DE depth chart:

LDE Keivonnis Davis So ------ RDE Jordan Sherit rsJr
LDE CeCe Jefferson So ------- RDE Jabari Zuniga rsFr
LDE Antonneous Clayton Fr --- RDE Jachai Polite Fr
Five of the 6 are So's and Fr, and the 2 starting LB's are rsFR/Fr.

~ Florida currently stands at #1 in the SEC in SEC-C game appearances with 12.
~ While Jim McElwain became the 1st coach in SEC history to reach the title game in his 1st 2 seasons as a head coach.

* Six SEC Teams are in the CFP Top 25, including SECw-C #1 Alabama.

Will Muschamp is the equivalent of Tubby Smith. He can bring a blue chip program to its knees because elite talent is wasted on his style of coaching. You guys should love him over there.

Do you want to know just how clueless the rivals recruiting site is?

They have RB Malik Davis listed as barely a 3 star with a 5.5 rating.
Three stars goes from 5.5 to 5.7 -- At 5.4 you're only rated as a 2 star....
Offers: Home state schools: UF, Miami, USF, UCF, FL-Int
Other Power 5's: Miz, Az, BC, ILL, Ind, IoSt, UL, Mary, Minn, NC, Pitt, PUr, VaTech, WVa.
With a total of 26 D1 offers so far. o_O

The Gator 4 stars that rivals has with only a 3 star rating include:  (jmoho's)

RB Malik Davis 5-11 187 *** 5.5 - Tampa
TE Zechariah Byrd 6-6 236 *** 5.5 - Millbrook, AL
CB Shawn Davis 6-1 195 *** 5.6 - Miami
LB Ventrell Miller 6-1 225 *** 5.6 - Lakeland
Ath Kadarius Toney 6-0 185 *** 5.6 - Pritchard, AL (CB/RB)
LB James Houston 6-1 225 *** 5.7 - Plantation
And maybe:
DT Javier Edwards 6-3 335 *** 5.5 - JuCo, Brenham, TX
UF beat out Ark and Colo among others for the big JuCo DT's commitment.

"Don't you ever get tired of being WRONG!" -- Sundance Kid to Butch... ;)

Thats the exact problem, why delay the inevitable? And yes, if we lose Saturday (@ LSU), firing Mac is inevitable?

What's inevitable is that Michi's sour tune is unlikely to change,,, ever!

The Mc recruits that stepped up BIG @ LSU and were some of the keys to the Gator's win?

3-star OC T.J. McCoy 6-1 308 rsFr (3rd string starter)
3-star RT Jawaan Taylor 6-5 340 (another true Fr starter)
3-star RG Fred Johnson 6-6 311 Soph (started as a tFr)
5-star LG/LT Martez Ivey 6-5 305 Soph (started as a tFr) -- injured, will likely miss FSU game.
UF's OL only allowed 9 QB pressures all game, which is 6 less than LSU’s per-game average.

3-star LB Vosean Joseph 6-1 226 Fr - Hit QB at the 1 to prevent a TD. Also recovered the KO fumble..

3-star RB Lamical Perine 5-11 221 Fr - with a 22 yd run to the LSU 4 yard line, for the game, 6.3 ypc.
He's from Ala. and Saban tried but failed to flip him away from Mc.

3-star MLB David Reese 6-0 244 Fr - led the team with 10 Tkls.

2-star LB Kylan Johnson 6-1 231 rsFr - recovered the Brantley FF inside the LSU 10 yard line.
He was a 2 star QB coming out of Dallas, Tx, then a Fr safety, and now a starting rsFr LB.

4-star CB Chauncey Gardener 5-11 204 Fr - a Special Teams standout, and a backup CB.

4-star RB Jordan Scarlett 5-10 213 Soph - vs LSU, 21 for 108 yds, 5.1 ypc.
Jimblow attempted to flip him away from Mc-UF, so in your face Cooksie...

5-star DE CeCe Jefferson 6-1 261 Soph - had a big sack deep in the redzone to stall an LSU TD drive.

4-star WR Tyrie Cleveland 6-2 196 Fr - 3 of 4 targets for 124 yds, including the only TD (98 yds).
Mc flipped him away from Houston on NSD.

3-star K Eddy Pineiro 6-0 173 rsSo scored 10 of the 16 pts, FG's 3/3, X-Pt 1/1
While he is not a Fr, he is a 1st year Gator that Mc successfully flipped away from Saban.

That group of 13 only had a 3.46 star average,,, for just terrible recruiting by Mc-staff...

The Mc-staff recruited RB Committee for 2016:
All 4 would be starters at most other D1's.
Scarlett 5.2 ypc Soph, Perine 4.9 ypc Fr, Cronkrite 4.6 ypc Soph, Thompson 4.6 ypc rsJr.

But it was still a solid 'TEAM' win in all 4 phases of the game, (Off-Def-ST's-Coaches)
UF 16 - 10 LSU (-14 + 6 = 20) That win was much bigger than just the game score.

Here's a good SEC Country article on the Pro Football Focus grading of the Gator's @ LSU.

RIVALS RANKINGS

# 3 Chokelahoma :p:cool:

# 9 Rubber Dollies ;)

# 20 lizzerds :eek::eek::eek:

Choke-la-homa - 4 opponents with 7+ wins, 6 with less than winning records.

Florida - 6 opponents with 7+ wins, 4 opponents with less than winning records.

Just like is usual for the defunct Big 12,10, whatever...

lulz

We have three QBs on the roster (or will have next spring) that have never taken a snap of college ball. Yet this Mensa candidate insists, INSISTS "there is no solution for QB on the roster." No to even mention we have a starter coming back.

The memes about retarded FSU fans sometime write themselves.
very amusing to revisit some of these threads...."Mensa candidate" hmmmm
