Many posters have expressed dissatisfaction with Gator's coaching so far in this season.

I am one of them - Franks under center, handing the ball off to Perine IS NOT WORKING !

"...But so far this year, with a young and inexperienced offensive line incapable of getting a push at the line, it has seemed that Mullen’s game plan on the ground has been three inches and a cloud of frustration.

Florida had just 20 yards rushing by halftime, a mark Kentucky surpassed in its first drive of the second half. The struggles culminated in a sequence in the third quarter when the offense opted to run the ball four times in a row, resulting in a turnover on downs and Franks being carted off with a season-ending leg injury."

What happened to Mullen's spread offense ? Perine's only TD came on an option play from Trask.

"...Florida’s defense will need to be better than it was on this night, when it was largely carved up by Kentucky backup Sawyer Smith — except for his three picks.

And Dan Mullen, who was slow to change gears from trying to get the Gators’ running game in gear and called many a debatable play before the perfect call to give Hammond the rock with under a minute to play, will face a lot of criticism and should do a fair bit of retooling of his offense going forward.

One great call at the end of the game won't work in the SEC !

"...But, there is going to have to be some adjustments made as Trask and Franks are two completely different quarterbacks.

Trask is a big target, who can run a bit, but has a very good arm.

It is important that the coaching staff augment (i.e. CHANGE) its play-calling and strategy to take into account the change in quarterback.

Trask is a drop back passer !

Maybe Mullen should chat with SOS & get a few tips on how to install a real passing game !

But Florida is 3-0, somehow.

And that’s a heck of a lot better than being 2-1."

Look arguably nobody here is a bigger Mullen fan than me but he’s been bad. No sugar coating it. This team is undisciplined in execution, we rack up penalty yards like we’re purposefully trying to get flagged, we play stupid ball, and play calling on both sides has been bad and that isn’t just playing the result.

Has he had to overcome issues? Hell yea. Just last night alone we were down Henderson, Toney, Burney, and Zuniga then Franks got injured in the 3rd. We’ve been dealing with injuries, suspensions, and have had some unlucky breaks. But even with all that is just hasn’t been good enough. At a minimum the coach shouldn’t put his team in a position to lose games because of his decisions and Mullen did that a minimum of three times last night. Chasing points with a backup QB in the game is a rookie mistake and if Kentucky’s kicker could make a short field goal those two decisions would have lost his team a game they worked hard to steal. His mismanagement of the clock at the end was also rookie bs and would have cost his team valuable time needed for a comeback or Kentucky makes that kick. How do you let 30+ seconds run off the clock with 3 timeouts in your back pocket? Even the announces were asking wth he was doing. He was bad and needs to look in the mirror.

Mullen seems overwhelmed this year and I don’t understand it. His demeanor last year on the sidelines was one of confidence and poise. His play calling was spot on in just about every way possible late in the season. He made Jim Harbaugh look like a high school coach in the bowl game imo.

These first three games are the polar opposite...he looks confused and unsure of himself. I thought he coached poorly in the Miami game simply because so much attention was given to the game and he was just nervous. Now I’m seeing tendencies that I don’t like and I’m hoping it doesn’t become a trend. I understand a coach wanting to instill confidence in the players by running the football, but to continuously call the same dive plays over and over behind this suspect O line is really starting to worry me.

The option play for the touchdown with Trask was ALL Trask, it had nothing to do with design at all! If it wasn’t for his instincts to throw the ball back to Perine that could have been disastrous. All that said, my absolute biggest concern right now is the lack of discipline. This team seems like they would rather dance and prance by themselves instead of celebrating as a team. We’re missing leadership on the defense, someone to get in everyone’s face and lay down the law so to speak.

We have some huge games on the horizon and I’m nowhere near as optimistic as I originally thought I should be. This team is staring at 9-3 at best and without a legitimate running game, 8-4 doesn’t seem to be pessimistic.

My only thought is our Oline is even worse than we realize and he's trying to coach around it. But at times last night we looked a little desperate, same against Miami. His going for 2 was baffling. Absolutely baffling. Wreaked of being overmatched. He needs to get better in a hurry.

Gator team speed is great, especially on defense, where they can get to a 'missed tackle' quicker than anybody....

I still think that the O'lay Teddy-bears are a good (and maybe a necessary) idea... ;)

Going for 2 was the correct call both times. The play called was crap both times.
That was the perfect time to do a roll-out run-pass option with Trask.

I don't believe that Mullen is overwhelmed this year or anything has changed. We are really a fractured offense thanks to the new offensive line. We're a running team that cannot establish a running game against anyone. Dan Mullen is working around that as best he can to keep moving the ball in whatever ways he has to.

Slowing down the 4th quarter and watching it from the skycam view, it is readily apparent that he absolutely picked apart KY's defense once they were softening up to go more prevent style. There was no holding back and he had Trask going straight to their weak holes. I can't remember the last time I've seen in a game where our WR's were so wide open on nearly every play, usually we're covered like a fat kid with butter and the SEC refs never give a damn about it.

No what worries me the most is Dan Mullen's damn lackadaisical attitude. He didn't have this team fired up for revenge going into the game, wouldn't let them talk to the media or anything. No "response" from the debacle that happened the year before ala Urban Meyer and Jortgia in 2008. At halftime, his comments to the sideline reporter after we just had our butts handed to us for 30 straight minutes seemed like he couldn't care less. He actually was caught yawning in the 3rd quarter on the sidelines and just seemed to have zero emotions about anything. I'm not asking for the guy to get jumping angry on the sidelines like Muschamp used to, but show SOME passion for the game and show us fans that you are taking these games seriously. None of us want to lose any games, but we CERTAINLY don't want to be losing the games to the teams we do have more talent than and have no business losing to.

It's pretty adorable that you say things like that and believe you should be taken seriously.

Pitiful little attention beggar, kinda sad really, but here ya go,,, yet again.
Here to foul up yet another thread with his always village idiot smelly crap.
BothTotally Clueless and Boring is any ugly combination.

Never need to read his posts, because they are always going to be,,, what they are, and what he will always be. This asswipe stalker arrives to spread his usual crap, and to be the lonely despised drunk loser that he is...

There once was a goater named dunny,
