I know UK was without their starting PG as well, so not like we were the only team missing players, but seriously, at least try and make it not so obvious that you want UK to win, refs.

That said, officiating in the SEC is terrible. There were numerous fouls/calls that went against UK And i am sure some went against UF.

We are definitely the 2 best teams in the SEC. Hope we both have good runs in the NCAA tourney.

If you know anything about basketball, Florida had more field goal attempts than kentucky because of the Gators' defense (UF - 76 FGA's, UK - 53 FGA's). Kentucky had more turnovers than Florida, also. UK: 16 TO's, UF: 6. Monk himself had 6 TO's in that game.

As a result of Florida's extra-missed shots, UK had more total rebounds.
UF - 26/71 FG (36.6%) ---> missed 45 shots
UK - 24/53 FG (45.3%) ----> missed 29 shots

Both teams had roughly the same number of offensive rebounds but UK had more defensive rebounds because of all the extra missed shots.

Florida' defense was hampered by the obvious biased refs in rupp arena that favored one team over another (UF - 22 fouls, UK 13 fouls). Otherwise, Florida would have blown out the wildcats in the first half alone. There were enough shots available for Florida to attempt both the 3-pt attempts and to hit the paint. Florida had 71 FGA so 30 3-ptA's along with 41 shots inside might be fine. Just wished that Florida could have driven it inside more by our wing players and made just a few more shots overall. UK had 18 FG's inside while UF had 16 FG's inside the paint. The disparity came from the free-throw-line and UF's lack of an inside game from hayes and others.

As your coach alluded, Monk must have drunk some beer at halftime and grown some 'beer-muscles' because all of his 33 points came in the 2nd-half. In the 1st half, Monk had zero points.

That's the problem, the art of them fixing the games trickles down to everything at an impossible disadvantage to win a game. You get every teams best players ALL in foul trouble, for the first time all year for each one of them magically too... They can't play defense or touch anyone or they are gone, get no rhythm to get out in transition, can't go to the basket because they aren't letting you draw fouls after getting taken down in head locks that are just simply called jump balls, just miserable bullshit.. Then by the last 10 minutes of the 2nd half you are forced to go desperation mode and forced to throw up long shots to try to get back in it then it starts getting worse, and every rebound they get it's a foul every time they have it no matter what and just tack on two more FT's from doing nothing.


If Florida wasn't as good as they are and if UK wasn't just average which is what they are, absolutely no fear for that team and the smart guys like Bilas know they aren't anything and thinks they will be bounced the first weekend away from their magic school bus FT gym.. The art and process of how these games are called to make sure they get every built in advantage from how it's called is an art and after having gambled for over 12 years in my life iv'e seen it all and know a fix right away when im watching it, which is why i always just say i wanna see if we can just stay in the game to see how good we are because winning there is not even a chance.
