Try rebounding and playing a little defense....
48-30 on boards and Monk and Bam abused your defense.
Typical Kentucky simpleton.
If you know anything about basketball, Florida had
more field goal attempts than kentucky because of the
Gators' defense (UF - 76 FGA's, UK - 53 FGA's). Kentucky had
more turnovers than Florida, also.
UK: 16 TO's, UF: 6. Monk himself had 6 TO's in that game.
As a result of Florida's
extra-missed shots, UK had
more total rebounds.
UF -
26/71 FG (36.6%) ---> missed 45 shots
UK -
24/53 FG (45.3%) ----> missed 29 shots
Both teams had roughly the same number of
offensive rebounds but UK had more
defensive rebounds because of all the extra missed shots.
UK { 48 reb; 36 Dreb, 12 Oreb}
UF { 30 reb; 19 Dreb, 11 Oreb}
-----------------------------------------------------
---------------- +17,------ +1 = +18 rebounding margin for UK (48 - 30 = 18)
Try not to get confused by all of the terminology.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Florida' defense was hampered by the obvious
biased refs in rupp arena that favored one team over another
(UF - 22 fouls, UK 13 fouls). Otherwise, Florida would have blown out the wildcats in the first half alone. Just in the first half, the hot shooting Allen picked up two fouls and by the end of the game
four UF players picked up
4 fouls each (i.e, Allen, Hill, Chiozza, Hayes) vs only one UK player that had 4 fouls (Briscoe).

So
how did Florida lose to Kentucky despite shooting
more FG's (UF- 26 FG's, UK 24 FG's) and
more 3-ptrs (UF - 10 3-ptrs, UK 6 3-ptrs)? The obviously biased refs allowed kentucky to attempt more freethrows than florida:
UF - 4/6 FT's
UK - 22/27 FT's
Florida did not even hit one free-throw in the whole 2nd half of that game. So, congrats on your little win wildcat fans but just so that you know,
Kentucky did not get Florida's best shot! Somebody in your cozy, little arena did not allow it.
