I'll take two positives from this game:
1. When we had to have it, we put two drives together and drove the field. We fumbled one away and the other ended in a FG but we drove it when we needed it most.
2. We won. I thought USCe would be our sleepwalk game and our best chance at a loss in the next few games, but this should be a wakeup call and give us a better effort for that game. And the pressure of locking up the division is gone. And the good news is we won with a performance that was clearly down.

Totally agree. They won the game. Bottom line. And maybe the clutch kick by Hardin will get his confidence back and make it easier for the coaches to manage the offense once they get inside the 30. I love McElwain's calm demeanor on the sidelines, and I think the team reflects that. Big, emotional win against Georgia last week and the offense was just flat today. But they won. All is good.

I think our game against UcheaT looked worse. We actually made them look like a competent football team. They were up on us by 2 scores with 10 minutes to play in the game. This game against Vandy today was just a tough win. They have one of the best defenses out there thanks to Mason, and they were hitting us in our weak spot on our line from start to finish. Today was just an example of how badly the score can look when you turn the ball over 4 times, even if you're outplaying the other team. Against the Viles, we almost made it look like they were outplaying us for some parts of that game.
Vandy has a dang good D. I think they are a top 25 D in the nation if I remember correctly. but the sad part including the turnover on down, we turned the ball over 5 times inside their 30 yard line. This game should of been blown wide open by the 2nd quarter, but a win is a win and all you have to do is win to get in.
This is why I'm not too worried about this game. The turnovers in this game were an outlier on the season. We could have and should have scored more but we kept coughing the ball up at the worst time possible. We weren't as inept as it seemed, but seemed to lose confidence from the turnovers. Look at Alabama vs Ole Miss, they turned it over 5 times and barely lost due to that. It happens to every team, a mistake ridden game where you just keep shooting yourself in the foot. We made it out alive though, so on to next saturday, lets beat the cocks and finish up conference play.
SC always plays us tough and they seem to be playing a lot better since HBC left. this game scares me a little because I fell like the players like this coach and want him to stick around.. heck they should be 2-1 maybe 3-0 under the new head coach. they are not the SC of the first of the year
