Yeah. Orlando is certainly a stain on the state, but Tampa is pretty normal as far as cities go. I prefer rural life myself, but my faunts and uncles are city slickers living in Tampa. Seems pretty normal to me, but I dont spend much time out there. I like to catch a few Bolts games a year, never have to pass a homless encampment, never stepped on a dope needle...not to say it aint there, i have never seen it. You certainly have more progressive types but no hostile in your face left wingers and big city problems.
On no. Tampa definitely got worse transexual/drag queen vibes than Orlando. Tampa just has a better straight nightlife overall. I felt like Orlando only catered to the gay lifestyle at times. It was rough.

It’s OK for a brief visit but I wouldn’t want to live there. Some of the suburbs are OK. At least it has some culture and some great BBQ.

What does Florida have to offer that‘s better? OK, I’ll give you fishing and boating but that’s about it.
I lived in Far North Dallas for 20 years and I think you live in Houston, which is a PIT. It’s why we always flushed twice...
Took us a while to re-acclimate back to Florida but now I can’t see a reason to move back other than awesome Mexican, BBQ, and shopping - which Florida is quickly catching up with.

Somebody here sure knows all about Hamburger Mary's.

Still is.

We did the Green Iguana and a few other bars but I can't recall the names.

In (near) Orlando, we hit The Edge and Fire(something)...Firestone maybe? The fire one became a different scene even when I was a kid. My buddy, a Marine, would have absolutely taken home a tranny if we hadn't intervened. In his defense, dude looked like a lady.

I dont even get off the boat in Thailand because of this.

The only way I figured it out was...

A. (S)he was way too hot for him 😂

B. (S)he was way overdressed. We were in jeans/khakis and (s)he was in a very expensive club dress.

C. He was hammered and (s)he was way too eager to take him home.

To this day he still gets mad when we tease him about it and says, "dude...I knew it was a dude, I was just being friendly!" 🤣

Thing is she most likely had partners hiding in a room somewhere. If he was lucky he'd get robbed and tied up.

The last time I was in Tampa, it was on business (20 years ago). We went to Ybor City in the middle of the day, ate an early dinner and had happy hour. We were only there for a couple of hours and parked on the main drag next to the sidewalk. We came out and someone busted out the back window of the truck cab and stole a laptop. Still daylight.

Have you been to the St Johns Town Center lately? It's like a small city. I stay the hell away from there, 😂

Houston does suck. Too crowded, too flat, too hot. But still better than Florida. Especially the people.

And a great place to make a living in oil and gas.

And the home of the current World Series champs. So we've got that going for us.

You must have been in Plano or Frisco. Both are nice places to live.

Probably couldnt find a drag show to take your kids to, huh? Here's a hint, we dont want you here, youre not welcome.
Well that’s not very nice. See what I mean about the people in Florida? Not very friendly.

Thank goodness I don’t GAS whether you welcome me or not. As a native Floridian, I’m grandfathered in.

It happens often enough in Italy and Thailand that it is emphasized not to go anywhere alone and to avoid taking women back to rooms you didn't rent in the port call liberty safety brief.
The last time I went to New Orleans on business was an eye opener for me. Not trannies, I've got a sharper eye than that. Youngish, professionally and conservatively dressed and seemingly other business women in town for conventions in the French Quarter, same as you. They do not come on to you, they are cool and coy. Extremely attractive, and reserved and not trashy. You don't even realize they are hookers until it's go time. 🙁

How much were you on the hook for? 😂

Yep that general area. I do agree that Texas people are great.
